“sophisticated comfort”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 19, 2012

This was my party's third stay here. We are Tanglewood regulars who enjoy the finest that the Berkshires have to offer for one weekend every summer. I have sampled many different inns in the greater Lenox area, and, while many are wonderful, the Garden Gables Inn stands above all. The price is high, but they deliver in terms of comfort, sevice, food, ambience and convenience. The breakfasts are made to order and delicious. The waitstaff is excellent. The new innkeepper, Denise, is very lovely and very helpful. John, a co-owner with his sister, is quite engaging and friendly. I highly recommend staying here for a high-end experience in very elegant accommodations.

Room Tip: work with Denise on your needs

The Inn is lovely. Great location--can walk to town. We stayed in room 14 which was a nice size.
The bed is without a doubt the best I have ever slept in, The bathroom was o the dark side and the jacuzzi is broken but neither was a problem for us. The room has a nice balcony with a couple of chairs and a table. The pool area was lovely-- an unusual amenity at a B and B. Breakfast was very good--the apple strudel french toast is delicious. All in all-- somewhat on the pricey side but well work the money

Room Tip: All of the rooms are different so look at the descriptions on their web site carefully

We have been coming to the Garden Gables for years. While I miss some of the rooms decor, it keeps getting better. There was a marked change in the attitude of the staff--lighter, more helpful and upbeat.. The pool is lovely and heated. Best of all was the dinner we had which was absolutely 1st rate. We brought our friends who are serious foodies, and they were blown away, not a complaint from them--- a first! After all these years we have our routine, and know how to get to Tanglewood without hitting traffic (we aren't telling) and have found things we love to do. But most of all, nothing beats sitting around the pool with a good book. We have been to other Inns in Lenox and elsewhere, but we look forward to our little ritual of coming back to the Garden Gables.

This Lenox Inn is a delight.

The property is nicely landscaped..
The plentyful staff are all upbeat, helpful, and well informed.
The pleasant owner was present overseeing that all was taken care of.
The Inn is very clean and neat.
The room we stayed in was fresh and clean and with very nice furnishings.
The shower and Wirlpool tub were great.
I used the outdoor pool and enjoyed a very pretty view of the property.
No noise in the room !
Overall a perfect retreat.

Our room was room 3.

Room Tip: We stayed 3 times over the past few years. All 3 rooms were great.

We stayed three nights in main house. Comfortable room with excellent bed. Excellent and attentive staff. Everyone is very helpful offering suggestions when requested for restaurants, attractions and theater. Breakfast buffet included everything you could consider for breakfast or brunch. Location of inn allowed an easy walk to all shops and restaurants in Lenox. The property itself is set back from main street and is beautiful with lush trees a gorgeous pool and plenty of chairs just for sitting and relaxing. Definitely a place to return to in Lenox.

This was our second visit to Garden Gables and we loved every minute of it. Staff was more than friendly. Convenience to Lenox center was wonderful and, at the same time, the site was secluded and quiet. Rooms have been clean and updated. Food, especially a Saturday night dinner, was excellent. We'll be back.

We stayed for three nights and it was our first trip to Lenox and Garden Gables. We got a special (3 nights for the price of 2); it was still expensive but worth it. Our room (3 in the main house) had a good deal of character but was slightly cramped (had to move an armchair to open a wardrobe) and the floor was not horizontal (as might be expected in such an old house). The best part of the room was the huge bathroom with jacuzzi and separate well designed shower. We hardly used our car at all because Garden Gables is so convenient to everything--yet we still felt that we were in a bit of secluded paradise at the Inn. The pool is big enough for laps and heated to a comfortable temperature; somehow they keep it perfectly clean even though it is shaded by overhanging trees.
