“Great tour!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 31, 2013

Very interesting and informative tour of house and also info on modernist art. Highly recommend; but note, there is a bit of a walk through beautiful woods, can be golf carted if necessary.

“Unique house museum dedicated to artistic couple”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 8, 2012

This is a lesser known museum in a Bauhaus style home and studio of an artistic couple who summered in the area. It has great period details including lots of the couple's art and other paintings they owned by prominent artists.

“Fabulous Tour”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 5, 2012

This house and studio are a very different look at a couple of artists of the Bauhaus school. The guides are very articulate and the tour is quite fascinating. It is really up close and personal and you feel as if the artists are almost with you. Fabulous!

“Spectacular setting and sparkling tour guide”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 3, 2012

Anna Z. , a former school teacher, of Italian/French heritage, led our group of 18 on a tour that appealed to all ages. She offered tremendous historical instruction and aesthetic knowledge while conveying a vibrant sense of the couple who once worked and lived in this beautiful studio/home.

Thank you for reviewing Frelinghuysen Morris House & Studio and mentioning Anna, one of our outstanding guides. Though we are a modernist house with important collections of 20th century art and furnishings, the appeal of the art, architecture, gardens, and historical lifestyle allow the tour to appeal to all ages and interests. Please come again in 2013!

“Not your "Colonial" Berkshires”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 26, 2012

A pre mid-century modern house that once belonged to the Freylinghuysen and Morris couple. both were modern artists and she sang at the Metropolitan Opera. Beautiful grounds adjacent to Tanglewood, with Yoga on Thursday AM. On entering the house, you feel as if you're in a Fred Astaire/Ginger Rogers movie. Marble floors and winding stairway. In addition to the couple's art work, including wall murals, there are paintings by Picasso, Miro and Klee. A fabulous docent brought it all to life. A little bit of a woodland walk from the property entrance to the house, or they will drive you in a golf cart. I loved it!!!

Thank you for reviewing Frelinghuysen Morris House & Studio. Gentle Yoga on Thursdays will continue in 2013, we're happy to report! Each week our certified instructor picks a different outdoor location and we concentrate on breathing, and guided imagery and emerge refreshed!
