The Gateways Inn stands out above others, partly due to the gracious hospitality of the owners, Michelle and Eiran. My visit over a peak autumn season weekend and lasting through the early weekdays was extremely pleasant. The weekend breakfasts, when the Inn was full, were sumptuous with fresh fruit, cheeses, warm breads, and a special entree. But they were also lovely during the weekdays when only 1-2 other couples shared the breakfast room -- I think they serve the best coffee anywhere! I was pleasantly surprised by the amenities offered in the room, including a warm robe and slippers, and a gas fireplace to quickly warm the room in the morning and evenings. The fully stocked bar and the evening wine bar with live entertainment was a bonus -- entering the Inn in the evenings was delightful as people were so gay and the place so lively. I highly recommend the Gateways (and I have stayed at other B&B's and hotels in the Lenox/Pittsfield area to compare!).
