“Worth a Visit”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 17, 2014

The Old Forge was a great place to have lunch. The atmosphere was comfortable, friendly and warm. The decor was well done. Our food was excellent with a good selection of beers. They also have a nice area for outside dining. If I am in the area again, I would choose this place ot eat.

“Good Food - Friendly Service - Rustic Pub Atmosphere”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 15, 2014 via mobile

The Old Forge restaurant was highly recommended to us last year when we vacationed in the Berkshires, but we did not have a chance to get there. This year we vacationed in Vermont and stopped in for dinner on the way home. We asked to be seated downstairs, which was quieter and had a warm, friendly Rathskeller atmosphere. I ordered the étouffée, which was almost as good as what I have eaten in New Orleans, and my wife ordered the pulled pork sandwich that she said was exceptional. Everything is made to order so we had a little wait, but we didn't mind. The service was super friendly and efficient, despite the restaurant being crowded (it was Saturday night). They have a huge selection of quality beers, but we were driving so we drank iced tea. We would definitely go back there, and recommend it highly.

“Cozy, friendly place in the Berkshires”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 5, 2014

I couldn't ask for more. A friendly, nicely decorated place which offered by a number of gluten-free choices and which had draft cider on offer. The staff was friendly and most of the customers seemed to be regulars. In all a comfortable place.

“Where everybody knows your name”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 22, 2014

Really cool place. You can tell that this is a local favorite. Warm and friendly. This time of year it is not packed with tourists but was still comfortably busy with locals. Great rustic bar vibe. Wife had a waldorf salad that was loaded with fruit and chicken. Ended up with half to take home. I went for a daily special of two HUGE center cut boneless pork chops (1" thick), homemade applesauce, grilled veggies and fried potatoes with jalapenos. Salad bar was fairly basic but very fresh and the dressing looked homemade. I had a creamy garlic that was fantastic. Really a go to place if you're in the area. Oh yeah, an amazing selection of beers. Restaurant gets busy during lunch and dinner with a wait. Be creative and go between traditional mealtimes for a late lunch/early dinner.

“Nice selection of beer and good 'pub' food”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 21, 2014

Was a bit confused as to parking - ended up below the restaurant and had stairs to climb. Had a sandwich call the Austrian - was an excellent choice. Fries were a bit weak - could be a little 'crisper'.
