“Lovely beach!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 15, 2010

Clean, quiet, miles of walking, great swimming...No blasting jamboxes here, no garbage littered about, no rocks, glass, etc. Pristine sand, beautiful, scenic landscape of dunes and sandbars, clean water, it's just a superb beach.
Great personnel, too. The walk from the parking lot was a bit challenging for my 86-year old Mother, so she availed herself of the ride in the service vehicle provided for the elderly and handicapped. Just wonderful.

“One of New England's Best Beaches”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 16, 2010

We have been coming to Crane Beach for over 50 years and just love it every time. It is very well kept and preserved wih natural sand dunes that are unspoiled. The beach is long and even when crowded, one can have as much privacy as desired. It is a great beach to walk, seemingly endless. The sand is soft and white and is very clean. Everyone is expected to remove anything brought in with them and nearly everyone does. No houses, developments or condos on this beach, it is natural and pristine. It was a private estate of the Crane family who made a fortune in plumbing fixtures. Take a tour of the Crane mansion if you have the time. It is pricey on the weekends - $25 to park. Food is available, and is more healthier than usual beach concessions.

“What a beautiful beach. Upon entering I...”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 20, 2010 via mobile

What a beautiful beach. Upon entering I was pleasantly surprised to see clean facilities, nice snack bar and BBQ! Over the dunes is this gorgeous expanse of ocean, nearly white sand and no rocks!!! SO clean. Honestly, I felt like I was in the Carribbean! Parking is expensive in-season-$25 during weekend. Worthwhile to become a member to get $8 parking and loads of other benefits. Give Crane Beach a visit and enjoy what New England coast is all about!!!

“The beach I grew up on”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 21, 2010

I grew up near Crane Beach and never tire of going back. It is a great walking beach. It is large enough you can nearly always find a private spot to picnic or sit. Food, restrooms and changing rooms are available. The price to park is expensive, but I think it is worth it to keep this beach pretty much perfect for the past 20 years. Greenhead fly season is a problem - but you can still get an enjoyable walk in.

“Best and Most Beautiful Beach I’ve seen”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 10, 2009

WOW! That was the first word I said when we came over the high dunes and saw the beach.

Parking: $22 per car on the weekends but well worth it. There’s a large unpaved parking lot that fits around 1400 cars. But with the size of the beach, it can’t get crowded. Lots of employees directing you, was nice. We arrived at 9:45-10:00am and were about the 3 row in. So I would go around that time to insure parking space.

The sand was the softest, whitest sand I’ve ever seen on an eastern coastline. No rocks and clean!!!

It’s so hard to put into words but we got there at low tide. And wow!!!!! They have these amazing sand bars that jet out hundreds of feet that you can walk out to and it creates all these smaller “pond like” pools here and there. Perfect for children!!!! Because of the sand bars, once high tide comes in you can walk hundreds of feet out and still be below waist level. This makes it perfect for kids. And it has very little to no waves!!! The water in some spots was so warm it felt like bath water! I know… in New England? Yep!

Once high tide comes in, a lot of the beach is taking up by the water, but keep walking. DO NOT put your stuff down right when you get there. Walk to the right and down the beach a mile (yes a mile, well worth it) and park yaself down. Wayyyyy less people. After a few hours we ventured off to walk down to see just how long the beach was. After a 10 minute walk the people are so scarce it’s like being at the beach on a week day during rain! Sooooo quiet and private. A couple here then 100 feet away then another couple. After walking for at least 2 miles we still couldn’t believe the beach kept going and going! So make sure you warn the kids about the walk but it is so worth it.

PERFECT for kids with no waves, soft sand and low water levels for hundreds of feet. A MUST for couple who want privacy if willing to walk a bit. Softest sand ever and super clean. After going to Cranes Beach I can’t see visiting any of my other favorite beaches again!!!
