“Great for young families”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 30, 2007

Stayed for 3 nights in a 2 bedroom cottage during May 2007 with a 12 month baby. Plently of space, quiet, great location to visit Cape Cod and easy access to the ferries in Hyannis for Nantucket. Cottages are heated with kitchen facilities. No air conditioning but do have ceiling fans. No housekeeping on Sundays and when they do work they do not wash the dishes. This can result in a less than clean kitchen on arrival, which was our experience.

Cottages can share a wall depending on the size/layout booked. Might be a problem if you have noisy neighbors, but was ok for us.

After visiting the cape previously, I came upon a special place while planning a subsquent trip back. Surfing the internet and typing "lodging in Hyannis" up popped Captain Gosnold's Village. With our 19 and 15 year old daughters in tow, we knew we did not want to stay in a hotel. This is what we were looking for. Our cottage was decorated in a country theme. Everything was included, even the kitchen sink! The location is superb with the ferry landing and main street a short walk away. We are planning, again to stay at the Village. My one recommendation--if you plan on staying during the summer, I'd suggest asking for a window air conditioning unit. The owners have a contract with an air conditioning company, and pass on the cost to their guests. The owners are quite friendly, and are willing to help to make your stay more comfortable. The grounds and cottages are well maintained. If you're planning a stay on Cape Cod, book your stay here. Just remember, leave a cottage for us!!

ps The internet does not give this special place justice. Book for yourself-you won't be disappointed!

  • Liked — homey atmosphere, non-hotel accomodations

I was thrilled beyond words with our stay at Captain Gosnold's village. I really wanted to stay somewhere with that "Cape Cod" feel and this was definitely it! Our cottage was so adoreable with little pink shutters, a front porch and even a back deck. Inside, the cottage was even more perfect. The decorating was so cheerful and inviting - very beachy with pastels and white wicker. Everything was very clean and comfortable. We stayed two nights but I would love to spend a month or two here. I saw in the windows of a couple other cottages and they didn't look nearly as cute as mine but I had requested a cottage that was pretty so you might want to do the same. ( I stayed in 5B). The location was perfect - back in a residential neighborhood but just a couple blocks from the beach, the Kennedy Compound and the marina. Staff was also very friendly and helpful. Can't recommend this place enough!!
