I stayed at the Harbor House Inn for during July 2014 (sorry for the late review!). I booked this hotel for my sister's bachelorette party and was incredibly pleased with the entire weekend, from the actual book of reservations to the personal service we received while there. The owner, Raj, is very nice and accommodating. While most hotels down the Cape have a two night minimum, the Harbor House Inn did not have that which was huge as some girls could only make it for one night. We arrived around 11am on Friday to do a beach day and were only planning on parking in the hotel parking lot to walk to the beach (since we knew check-in was not until 3pm). However, upon our arrival Raj allowed us to check into our room, which was awesome because we had the car jam packed with stuff for the weekend and I didn't really want it all to sit in the hot car all day. Raj also offered us ice for our cooler from his freezer!
I booked one room for the first night - a "Deluxe Queen Mini-Suite". I was nervous about this because there were 5 people staying in that room and although it holds 5 people I did not want to be cramped. However, I was pleasantly surprised at how large the room was. It had 2 queen beds, a day bed, a desk, tv/tv stand, small table with chairs and additional sitting chairs and there was still plenty of room for bags and to move around! There was also a small kitchenette set off to the side with a small fridge (bigger than a mini-fridge) and sink and then a bathroom off of that.
I would classify this as a perfect Cape Cod hotel. It is VERY clean and you can tell the walls have been freshly painted. I am a very picky traveler and I cannot emphasize enough how comfortable I felt there because although not everything was brand new it was clean and well-kept. The hotel also has a small continental breakfast in the morning which is a nice addition to grab something on your way out for the day.
The hotel is also in a perfect location for all activities that people like to partake in at the Cape - the beach and restaurants/bars. There are several beaches if you just continue down Ocean Street - I would suggest driving as it is a few miles away and the parking rates are decent for daily parking. However, the downtown Hyannis area is certainly walkable (going in the other direction on Ocean Street). There are TONS of restaurants and bars in this area to suite everyone.
I highly recommend this hotel to everyone!
