“Very pleasant stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 12, 2013

My wife and two young kids stayed here as we were visiting friends in Brewster and wanted an easy trip back and forth drive to see them. It is only a short drive off of Exit 6.

Our check in and out was efficient and easy. Staff was pleasant.

The room and bathroom were clean and updated. We had a second floor room with vaulted ceiling which made the room feel bigger though the room and bathroom is a bit on the small side for a family of four. The beds are very soft so you if you like a firm bed these beds are not for you for a good night sleep. The housecleaning service did a very good job cleaning the room each day.

The indoor pool has a life guard on duty which is nice if you have kids. The pool was keep clean. Kids enjoyed it.

We got the breakfast package (kids under 12 eat free) include with our stay and would recommend getting it. The buffet is not elaborate but well suited to have a quick, good breakfast before heading out for the day on the cape. Buffet works great for the kids especially since it is FREE. We had Jessica as our server for two of the mornings and her attention to us was fabulous. She was pleasant and very engaging with our kids.

We did not use any of the facilities or visit the restaurant. There are plenty of options for shopping (Stop and Shop, Liquor store, Christmas tree) or eating (Cooke’s, Seafood, Olive Garden, Pizza) near bye.

Overall, we had a very pleasant stay and would come back again for a couple night stay.

Clean room. Staff was very, very friendly. Ordered room service in the morning. They were quick and the food was better than your average hotel breakfast. I recommend the cinnamon French toast. Did notice a little mold around the tub grout but other than that the room looked and smelled fresh. No stale hotel smell.

I have not swum in years and was very intimidated to attempt, but was encourage to make it happen. Philipe patiently listened concerning my aspiration to swim, he advised me of helpful techniques to use, he patiently watched to make certain I remained safe, and sincerely cheered me on.

I was ecstatic to swim the distance of about 15 to 17 feet! An accomplishment I had achieved for the first time! I previously was intimidated to be totally submerged in the water. Now, I plan to swim as often as possible to improve by using the information Philipe generously shared with me.

Thank you, Philipe! I hope you receive great recognition from your management team and a financial reward for going beyond the call of duty to make this guest exceedingly happy with an ability that will carry throughout the rest of my life. Please keep up the excellent work.

Warm regards,
Carol Coates

Room Tip: Rooms on the back side are quieter and near the Olive Gardens restaurant.

I am in the hospitality industry and am very critical when it comes to hotels. I recently had to move from one poor hotel in Hyannis where I was booked for a conference. I called this Holiday Inn and they immediately accommodated me at a reasonable rate even though almost sold out. If you want a great room for your family, they have this awesome two story condo-like room with separate tv/pullout/bath upstairs with a great balcony and another full bath downstairs. Pool area is indoors and very nice. Great bar and bartender, AJ!! They are almost finished a renovation, which looks great. It's a short drive to downtown, and an IHOP right across the street for an alternative to their nice restaurant. Nice romantic getaway place with the jacuzzi tub in the "condo" suite.

After been on the beach at cape cod we drove to the hotel wich was easy to find although we were astaunded to find it at an industral eststate. However once inside the hotel was very pleasant the staff very helpfull. The swimmingpool fantastic. As it was our last nght in the states we ask at reception were we can have the famous lobster . The restaurant was only wlking distance but were advised to take a taxi as it seemed safer. We had a good nghts sleep and would stay here again.

We stayed here June 2013 after booking via Priceline. The hotel is about a 15 minute drive from downtown and the beaches, and is not pedestrian friendly.

The rooms are very typical hotel rooms and seem a bit dated. Our room had two double beds and was WAY too small for our family of 4 (me, husband, and kids [5 and 1]).

Breakfast in the morning was just OK, though kids did eat free. Parking is free and so is wi-fi!

There is nothing inherently wrong, bad or otherwise with it ... it's just very typical, a bit run down feeling and too close to strip malls and traffic. There are signs posted that they are renovating ... maybe it'll be nicer in a few months.

Next time we visit Mystic, we'd much rather stay closer to downtown and the water.

Room Tip: Splurge and go for a hotel closer to the action.

Thank you for taking the time to write and for sharing your perspective. We're sorry to hear that our location was farther that you would have liked from downtown and beaches. We are located 2.2 miles from Main Street Hyannis and are lucky enough to have 3 public beaches within 2.9 - 4.4 miles (Veteran's Beach, Kalmus Beach, Craigville Beach) of our property. As you noted, we're just finishing up some additional refurbishments of our property as part of our ongoing property improvement plans. We will utilize your feedback as we strive to continually improve the guest experience.

As far as hotels in this area go this is pretty much the perfect balance of cost and amenity. The rooms are beautiful and include access to a stunning pool area with a great hot tub. A warning to the wise, the pool and hot tub are pretty strongly chlorinated, which can lead to issues if you have sensitive skin or are a fanatic about your hair!

Aside from the slight over-use of pool chemicals I loved the room which had great temperature control, a nice flat screen TV and a spotless bathroom. The bed and pillows were fluffy comfy and everything I dreamed of (pun intended). I might be a tad bit wary of the ground floor rooms, as mine didn't have any solid blinds, which lead to a great view. This view unfourtunately was two way in nature.

The staff here are extraordinarily polite but if you request a late checkout through their promotional preferred VIP card make sure they write it down! Joining the program is free and they offer checkout as late as 2pm for any member, but they forgot to write it down for our stay and I got a call from a confused front desk person the next morning. To their credit they didn't cause issues or even get mad that it was already an hour past my official check out time. I don't want to exclude this issue, as it could be annoying to a fellow traveler, but please keep in mind that all of the staff was exceedingly helpful, including the life guard who was friendly and attentive (not that I really planned to drown, but it was good to see).

Also, if you are craving a good breakfast don't bother going to the IHOP, just scuttle over to the restaurant downstairs. The breakfast wasn't included but was well worth the price. I would recommend anything with the crab in it, as they use what tasted like fresh crab.

If you are staying in the Cape Cod area definitely keep this place on your radar. I had some pretty serious issues at one of the other competing hotels in the area. Always remember that you will get what you pay for, the rooms here aren't outrageous (considering the economic climate of the area) and the few extra dollars were well spent in my opinion.

Room Tip: They are renovating many of their rooms as of June 2013, the noise isn't disturbing but you may...
