“convenient location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 10, 2013

We stayed for a night at this hotel. We were in room 203. The location is good within walking distance to the pier and the bus terminal. The room was decent sized but the hallway was smelly. There were no elevators. There's wifi in the room and the free breakfast by the indoor pool was nice. There's also free coffee until late.

Stayed here for several nights with my girlfriend as a getaway summer weekend to Cape Cod and Nantucket Island. I researched a bunch of hotels and B&Bs in the Cape Cod / Hyannis area. This seemed like the best combination of positive reviews and ideal location. We were particularly looking for a place within walking distance of the harbor where the ferry departs for Nantucket Island, so that we wouldn't have to deal with driving there and finding/paying for a parking space (could just leave our car at the hotel).

The location is definitely great - only 5 min walking distance to the harbor and ferry departure location. Some average eating / shopping options in the immediate area around the hotel, although nothing great.

In terms of the hotel itself, the front desk staff was very welcoming. When we checked in, the hotel manager greeted us personally and was extremely helpful and friendly. Unfortunately, over the weekend he didn't seem to be on duty (expected), and the rest of the front desk staff were varying levels of apathetic to ignorant.

The rooms were average quality. Every room has a balcony and a mini-fridge, which is nice. The entrances and stairwells are not particularly well placed. And the hallways smelled faintly some evenings. The rooms were clean and well furnished. On the second night, the hot water seemed unable to keep up with demand which resulted in a not very pleasant shower.

A continental breakfast is included and served in the indoor pool room. This is both a bit strange (to eat breakfast in front of people playing in the pool) and mildly unpleasant (since it's very humid and smells like chlorine, neither of which are conducive to whetting your breakfast appetite). The quality of the food itself is sub-par (even for most motels) and consists of "baked goods" that were likely shipped in vacuum-sealed packages from Costco or some other bulk grocery store. Better to pass, and grab some real food from a local bakery.

All of this would be OK to me if it weren't for the rather high nightly rate I was paying ($150/nt even after using a AAA discount). I understand it was peak summer season, but for the same rate (or slightly higher), I'd probably have preferred to stay in a homey B&B rather than a sub-par hotel. Next time we vacation to Cape Cod, we will likely stay somewhere else.

We stayed here for three nights in September and I have very few complaints - it is certainly worth the money we paid. It was one of the cheaper options, and I was honestly a bit disappointed when we first arrived, but that was the only time, and my satisfaction with the hotel grew each day. We were so close to all the Hyannis action which was great, especially in the evenings. The staff at reception were incredibly helpful. Breakfast was ample - I could have done with some fruit though. Parking was easy, check-in and check-out fine. The hotel is a bit out dated but once I got over this, it was perfect for our stay.

We stayed at the Hyannis Travel Inn for 3 nights, and the location of this hotel made it perfect for our trip to Cape Cod. Although the hotel is a little old and shabby, it is clean, and every staff member we met was pleasant and helpful. The pool and hot tub were nice, breakfast adequate, coffee & tea available all day. Front desk staff was helpful for recommendations for restaurants, beaches, etc, also had discounted ferry tickets. Hotel was easy walking distance to restaurants, shops and ferry terminal. We would definitely stay here again.

This is a very nice hotel very close to Main Street, the centre of Hyannis. The staff were very welcoming. We were given the choice of two rooms after being shown them. The room was large with plenty of storage space and it had a lovely balcony that enjoyed afternoon sunshine. The bed was comfortable but pillow comfort was poor. The bathroom was a nice size with a good shower. The room was clean as was the rest of the hotel. The continental breakfast, served in the swimming pool area indoors, was very good with a good choice of food. Disappointing that there was no fruit though. Front desk staff were extremely helpful in giving ideas of places to visit and directions. Albertos Italian restaurant just across the street is well worth a visit - superb food and service. Ask at the front desk for a $10 discount voucher.

My wife and I spent two great nights at the Hyannis Travel Inn, and we enjoyed it so much we'd stay here again in an instant. True, there was no elevator, but we knew that going in, and even though we ended up on the third floor, it was right near the door, and the room was great, although the pink sheets were amusing...:-) The staff was super courteous, and our housecleaner (I've forgotten her name) came back after leaving our room unfinished to finish the job and explain that their washer had broken and she was the only one they knew who could fix it. She was super pleasant and very cool about it. The continental breakfast was also pretty good, with a wide selection of choices. The hotel is super close to everything on Main Street, and everything worked very well - no trouble with the TV or bathroom. Kudos to the staff, and we'll definitely be back!

This is a wonderful hotel which is very near the Harbour and it's just the next street from the main shopping area.
The staff are wonderful, and there's a great indoor pool and hot tub next to the breakfast area. It always gives me a thrill to see the staff rolling up the plastic that covers the pool each morning.
Breakfast is good, and there's both the indoor seating (next to pool) as well as outdoor seating area.
The rooms are very decent, clean and comfortable.
WHile there isnt a laundry room, there's a laundromat just at the corner of the street (it;s called the Clothesline", which you can easily bring your clothes to if you need laundry services.

Overall, a great location - you can walk easily to the harbour, and there's ample parking space.

one thing, there isn't an elevator, so if you do have big bags, you may wish to get a room on the lower floor, although the hotel staff are more than happy to bring your bags up.
