We had a great time sitting outside. Food was good, drinks were good and atmosphere was like a back yard party!

“Ask about your food, nice location”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed October 25, 2013 via mobile

I ordered a nice sounding diver scallops over cranberry risotto; to my surprise, it came on pain old rice with one cranberry I could see and plenty of bell peppers. I don't know what the chef was thinking there. My two guests enjoyed their burgers, and once something I could eat arrived - fried scallops plate, it was tasty but a very small portion for the cost. The fruits were flavorless matchsticks. I should have asked more questions, I agree, but there are many better local seafood joints in the harbour, but this one's location allows it to stay open off times. caveat emptor, be sure to ask.

“First meal on the Cape”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 23, 2013

This is the first restaurant we ate at and one of the best. Our accommodations were not ready so it was suggested that we head into Hyannis for lunch. Happened upon the Black Cat Tavern and boy were we glad we did. The lobster salad was large with big pieces of lobster and enough dressing to make it good but not sloppy. Lobster bisque some of the best we have ever had.
We scored an outdoor table and it was nice enough in October to really enjoy the weather and view. Service was perfect.
A few days later we needed a quick small meal after a long day of traveling to Nantucket.
We did not have to wait long on a Saturday night even though there were 6 of us. Food and service was good again. Would definitely return if we were back on Cape Cod.
