“Good deal, nice location..”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 16, 2013

Our room couldn't have been better.. The first floor was just redone and everything including carpet, bed, furniture and paint was new.. Indoor pool was nice, outdoor pool was empty and was told another couple weeks before it was redone and working..6/7/2013 was arrival date for us. Breakfast buffet was ok, 9.99.. Staff was nice, did forget our clean towels once, but they arrived quickly.. Very nice location, close to Harbor and restaurants and shops on Main Street.

We called ahead to make sure we had WiFi since we needed to get some work done (the only reason we were staying at this hotel is because someone else chose it for a wedding block). One the phone, we were assured we would be put in the main building because there is where the WiFi is strongest. We thought this was a good first step. Well, upon arrival, we were not. We were put in a back building, where we did not have WiFi and our room smelt like mold (which I am allergic to). Thankfully, my husband arrived before me and got us moved before I got in there and got a a sinus infection.

Our upgraded room, while not smelly, was not much better. It was large, but, not clean. Our couch had stains all over it and our pillows (stored in a drawer?!?!) smelt like sweat and had hairs on them. We left them out for housekeeping to change - they didn't. There is also a giant fridge stored in the bathroom (which is nice to have) but, it is so loud you can't hear the TV over it.

Also, everything in this hotel is confusing. Parking lines? They are angled, so, everyone ignores them and takes two spaces. Wedding couple provided their guests with bags and instructions? We need to beg for them (which, of course, they had for us but didn't offer to give us until we told them repeatedly there must be one there - which we knew because we helped organize the event). Where do we get the shuttle bus to the wedding? The front desk has no idea, but, random other guest could easily tell us. Signage to our room? Well, the numbers directing us where to go only went up to 13 on our floor (our room was 14) so we wandered around, arms full of bags, wondering where we were going.

Oh - and that WiFi we needed? It was also terrible in the main building. We needed to tether off our smartphones/go to coffee shops to get anything done.

Arrived on Thursday, 6/6, for three nights. For the past 31 years, I travel to the Cape with a group of about 40 guys for a golf weekend. Most of the group stays further down Main Street, but a choice few of us prefer to stay at a hotel with a nice pool, so that we can lounge around with a few beers, get some sun and relax. We chose to stay at the Heritage House Hotel this year based on what we saw a year ago, which was a crowd of people sitting by the outdoor pool. We had a decent room with a balcony overlooking the outdoor pool. This would have been perfect if the weather had been better, AND if the pool was filled with water. We were told that the pool was being renovated, and that it would be another week before it was ready to go. During our stay, we never saw anyone working on the pool, so I am not buying that excuse. The previous weekend was in the 90s, and when I asked the woman at the front desk if people complained, I was told in a very nasty way, that nobody mentioned it. Not buying that either. The room itself was okay. It was located at the end of Main Street within walking distance of several restaurants and bars. Elevator was broken, so lots of steps and doors to pass thru before arriving at the room. This didn't bother me, but there were several elderly groups that appeared to be struggling to navigate the trip to their room. Breakfast was pricey and nothing special. Based on this review, I will be taking my business elsewhere for our 32nd Annual tournament in 2014.

Room Tip: Room 210 provide a perfect view of the empty outdoor pool. It was noisy as it sits on a main street...

First the positives- the rooms are clean, and the location is good- easy to walk to the harbor and Main St. Hyannis

Now the negatives- the place is VERY outdated, absolutely NO SOUNDPROOFING, I could here the people in the next room talk, snore as well as their TV.... second night I had to run out and buy ear plugs! I could even see light shining through the ceiling of my room from! Full of senior citizen tour groups - was woken up the 1st day at 5:30 AM by the tour group leader knocking on everyone's door!

Staff was very unhelpful and their response to everything was "i don't know"- skip the hotel breakfast and go next door or across the street much better value and much better quality! Needless to say I will not be back... EVER!... and even though website says fitness center close by for a fee staff had no idea about it.

Room Tip: Go to another hotel!

Checked in for just one night , sister and I and our elderly Mother. Gina at desk was more than wonderful! We asked to be in an area that was quiet, and She took care of all our needs and then some! Room was just right and beds very comfortable. We decided to take a quick dip in the pool, needed a few things and within seconds we were greeted by a staff member who took care of us right away. Pool was very clean, could have been a little warmer, Jacuuzi was also clean and comfortable. Wonderful continential breakfast the following morning, hot coffee and delicous fresh food to start our day.I will definitly return.

Room Tip: Let the front desk know your needs before they assign your room to you.

My boyfriend and I were looking for a fun getaway for Memorial Day weekend. Since we live right in downtown Boston, we decided to give the Cape Flyer train from South Station a try. The train goes to Hyannis, and this hotel is a perfect choice for anyone travelling by train or bus. It is directly across the street from the train station, and right on Main Street, which is full of stores, restaurants and bars, so there's no need to have a car.

The staff was friendly and helpful, as knowledgeable about the area. Gina in particular was very sweet and helpful. The room was clean and decent sized, and a great price, especially for a holiday weekend. Not super fancy, but if you're looking for a reasonably priced weekend away in an excellent location, I'd highly recommend Heritage House. We will be back!

We were cheked in by a wonderful girl name Gina. She was very friendly and gave us a nice room with a king size bed. She showed us where the pool and hot tub were. They both were very clean and the temperature of the indoor pool was very comfortable. She explained checkout times and offered to assist in helping us find a nice place to eat in the area. She made both my wife and I feel very comfortable and I will go back again for another stay soon.
