“Charming Inn”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 10, 2012

This was the first time my husband and I went to Hyannis and we had a wonderful time. The staff was friendly, helpful and attentive. The rooms and facilities were clean, warm and inviting -- the perfect setting for this visit. The Anchor's location is perfect -- right on the harbor and within walking distance to downtown and the ferries that go to Nantucket and Martha's Vineyard. I would highly recommend this place for your stay in Hyannis!

The Anchor In was a friendly and convenient place to explore Cape Cod. The staff was really friendly and helpful. The hotel was immaculately clean. The grounds were also very well kept. The atmosphere created by the staff seemed to help make everyone at the Anchor In friendly and warm. We chatted with several families who said they had been coming to the Anchor In for over 20 years! Very good breakfast. Rooms were very comfortable and I'll mention again how clean everything was.

We recently stayed at the Anchor In for 2 nights in late August. Our overall experience was excellent and we will be definitely recommending it to friends and family.

There were two adults and two children. They provided a litte wood crib with clean bedding for the baby. The room was clean and had all of the essentials including a fridge where we could store the baby's milk. Also had a coffee maker and flat screen TV with DVD player.

The room had lovely accents like lighting that was in dimmer's. We also had a screened patio which was very clean and nice to sit out on and enjoy our coffee and see the view of the harbour.

Rate included breakfast that included juice, tea, coffee, hot chocolate. Also included toast and English muffins, bagels and muffins. There was also fruit, yogurt, cheese, cold cuts and hard boiled eggs. Also had cold cereals including granola, oatmeal, Cheerios and frosted flakes. Food was fresh and well stocked and displayed.

The hotel was about a good 5-8 minute walk from the 'Main Street'. We did swim in the pool and though it was heated it was a little chilly but still quite nice. They provided us with towels.

The service was excellent and people very friendly, especially Janet from reception upon check in.

Thank you for a lovely, memorable experience!

I tayed here for Labor day weekend with my boyfriend. The motel is very clean, beautifully decorated and has a great view. Breakfast was awesome! Its walking distance to the nantucket and mathas vineyard ferries as well as main street where there are a lot of great resatuarants and shops. We would definitely come back!

We originally booked a 4 day three night stay at the Anchor In. We were enjoying our stay so we extended for one more day. The location is excellent for walking to main street and also to the Harbor for the ferries to Nantucket and Martha's Vineyard. All the staff members were very friendly and helpful. The continental breakfast each morning was a special touch. The hotel grounds were beautiful with the flowering plants(I wish my garden was that beautiful because I love to cut flowers and bring indoors). The pool was clean. My husband and daughter enjoyed their swims. The first room we stayed in was a good size, the bathroom was a tad small, but no big deal. The second room we were stayed in blew us away. It had a soaking tub and a separate shower stall. Plenty of toiletries including toothpaste and toothbrush and shaving supplies. We will certainly stay at the Anchor In on our next visit to Cape Cod. definatelytransferred toe

Our family of 4 enjoyed our two night stay in late August 2012. We stayed in a larger room (Cotuit) closest to the harbor. It was very nice, clean, and very Cape Cod...at least what we imagined Cape Cod to be. The pool was great for the kids, and the breakfast food and the breakfast kitchen/sunroom overlooking the harbor was very nice. The staff were very pleasant and helpful. We took the high speed Hyline Cruise ferry from Hyannis to Martha's Vineyard for a day trip. It was beautiful (especially Edgartown). The Hyline Cruise ferry terminal is a pleasant, short 15 minute walk from the hotel, mostly along the harbor. A 1 hour ferry ride takes you from Hyannis to Oak Bluff on Martha's Vineyard.
The larger room gave us more space to spread out since there were four of us in one room. We were glad that we paid a bit more for the extra space.
We would like to return to this hotel in the future.

Room Tip: Get a larger room like the Cotuit or Hyannis if 4 people are sharing a room

We spent four days at this resort and hotel after reading the reviews and seeing all the pictures on trip advisor! The clientèle while we were staying were all couples in the later stage of life and with two children aged 13 and 16 we felt like we were invading their retirement time!

The rooms for 4 people are very small and again the beds were doubles, but incredibly small, with one right next to the floor mounted air conditioner it was impossible to sleep with the noise and cold draught, so each night of our 4 night stay we had to rearrange the room to allow us to have the air con working as it was so hot in the rooms, but such that we could actually sleep.

The free breakfast is pleasant and the pool area nice, but some what smaller than the pictures from the hotel website show??

The place of Hyannis as very little to do except whale watching which we did and to drive along the expensive real estate in the area! The restaurants and variety is very limited within walking distance of the hotel.

Overall we will not be returning to the Cape and most definitely not back to the retirement home of the Anchor In.

Our website pictures are in fact, of course, the real deal. You will find some of these same pictures on Tripadvisor provided by us. You will also find similar images provided by many of our satisfied guests on Tripadvisor.
Within a short five minute walk you will find several restaurants around Hyannis Harbor; Tugboats, Dockside, Baxters, Spankys Clam Shack, Black Cat and the Raw Bar. We are one block from the East end of Main St. where you will find no less than 40 other restaurants to choose from. It would have been our pleasure to help you with your choices.
An average guest room anywhere with two Double beds and four adults for four nights and one bath is tight especially after a long trip. If you had shared your concern with us, we would have done everything we could have to make you more comfortable.
