“Charming B&B-highly recommeded for a romatic getway in Cape Cod”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 5, 2011

Stayed over the July 4th weekend in the very charming Blueberry Patch room (probably the best room in the house). Location was excellent - walking distance to downtown Hyannis and good base, in general, to explore the Cape Cod area. Linda and David were excellent hosts and provided delicious breakfasts.

Room Tip: Book the blueberry patch room!

We were made to feel very welcome at this lovely B&B after a long journey, nothing was too much trouble. Our room was just right, with all we needed and a very comfy bed. The breakfasts were excellent, with a full range of cooked, home-made goodies, and ample fresh fruit, granola, toasting muffins, . . . Our hosts were very friendly and obviously love what they do, their recommendations for eating and site-seeing were great, they even drove us down to the harbour for our boat to Nantucket!

David and Linda were excellent hosts in their very comfortable cottage. We stayed 3 nights in "Sand Dunes" room which was very comfortable. Breakfast on the porch was perfect with a delicious selection every morning, cereal, hot entree, lovely fresh fruit, juice, tea/coffee very filling. Quiet location with easy walk to waterfront.. Hyannis is a great base to explore the many picturesque Cape Cod villages, wish we could have stayed longer, really enjoyed this part of the USA, fond memories, also loved the salt marshes (mini everglades) Thanks again David and Linda for making our stay so enjoyable.

We stayed here two night during our US trip. Even if the weather was horrible, we really enjoyed our stay with the Bennetts. They gave us usefull advices what to do in order to escape the rain. The rooms are very cozy and the breakfast was incredible good. They even put out our national flags, what they are doing with every guest. We will defiantely come back!

This was our first trip to Cape Cod, and we had no idea what to expect. David and Linda were perfect hosts, and great cooks! Breakfast was very yummy, especially the quiche. It's not a large home but it's more than enough for a couple on vacation. Dave gave us excellent advice on where to explore since it was our first time on the Cape. There is a very nice beach a block away, and they'll lend you beach chairs if you want them. We stayed in the room with the king size bed and it was cozy but comfy. The attached bath is a bit small, especially if you are tall. It's all decorated in a very cute, quaint Cape Cod style with lighthouses and pretty wallpaper, and a real quilt on the bed! The neighborhood is very quiet and a pretty place for a walk.

Having never stayed in a B&B like this at first we felt a bit awkward. But Dave and Linda both made us feel like family by the end. I truly enjoyed this experience. You can't beat the location, we drove all over the Cape and this was in the middle of all the places we explored.

If you get the chance go shopping in Chatham, and have lunch at Wild Goose. Yum!

I've stayed at another fabulous B&B in Hyannis, but the Hillcrest far exceeded my already high expectations. My boyfriend and I spent a weekend here and could NOT be happier with our experience - we can't wait to come back next season!

Where to begin? Our room - the Ocean Breeze - was perfect: vaulted ceilings, beautifully decorated, private bathroom (tiny but well appointed). There were small attentions to details that we appreciated: the bottles of water waiting for us on each end table by the end (with glasses); the plush towels in the bathroom (unlike the thin, cheap ones that some b&b's use); the luggage rack; the heater in the closer (came in handy when it got chilly at night). The king sized bed was super comfortable. The only thing missing in our room was a mini-fridge (though there was one downstairs in the livingroom for the clients to use). We were really happy with the free wifi too! My boyfriend said that the Hillcrest is the "perfect balance between modernity and tradition" - you have the amenities you'd expect in a hotel in the cozy atmosphere of a beautifully maintained home.

Linda and Dave were great hosts and even hung up a French flag for my boyfriend (because he's French). The breakfast was copious and delicious -- what's nice about their set up is that there is plenty and you serve yourself.. which means you can have seconds of everything! One morning we had a delicious quiche, with amazing cinnamon scones, fruit salad, coffee, juice and toast. The next morning we were surprised to find a huge breakfast made just for us, complete with a fritatta perfectly portioned for two people and the the full continental spread. You can eat your breakfast inside at the dining table, outside on the porch, or in the gardens - which are really well beautiful.

The home itself is really lovely and the livingroom is left for guests to use whenever you please. Linda and Dave leave beach chairs and towels for guests to take to the beach (which is only about a 3 minute walk away!). They gave me great advice about where to go to dinner and, equally important, where NOT to go!

The only thing that was a little annoying is that another room has its bathroom in the hallway, and that made things a touch noisy during one of our nights there.

Linda and Dave let us take a peek at the other two rooms before we left (they weren't occupied on our last day), and we were especially impressed with the Blueberry Patch, which is actually a little suite with its own hallway and a large bathroom.

Loved our stay here, can't stop raving about it - recommend it 100%!

We spent five nights at the Hillcrest and would highly recommend it to anyone who visits the Cape. David and Linda were wonderful hosts -- warm, attentive, and extremely helpful in recommending what to do/see anywhere from Provincetown to Plymouth. The breakfasts were delicious and, in addition to the usual continental fare of cereal, bagels, and yogurt, always included a homemade hot savory dish, a freshly baked sweet treat, and fresh fruit. The Hillcrest is conveniently located in a quiet residential neighborhood within walking distance of local restaurants, the habor, the beach, and Main Street. Guests also receive helpful coupons (e.g., a discounted trip on the ferry to Martha's Vineyard or Nantucket). We definitely would be return guests.
