Relatively quiet beach, but with full facilities. Nice picturesque views and on most days you'll see windsurfers. The snack shack is over priced and the food is bland, but then again you're probably going there for the sand and sun. The beach itself is natural, so expect to be walking on shells if you are in bare feet. Also when we were there, it looked like the lifeguards that weren't on duty were also organizing free activities for kids so it's an additional bonus.
From a logistics point of view, the changing rooms/snack shack closes at around 4:30 so plan your day accordingly. And remember that it's $15 to park your car there but free if you walk up. We were lucky enough to be staying at the Seacoast Inn and got a free ride from Al, but if you are staying at one of the hotels/motels on Ocean Street it is within walking distance.
