Yankee Pedlar Inn has a good sized restaurant and banquet facility and this is the basis for this review.
This was a lunch with a small organized group (15 people) here and we ordered ahead from the menu.
Kitchen was a near disaster. While soups and appetizers came out within 15 minutes, we waited an hour for the first of the entrees to start coming and another 30 minutes before the last order and missing side orders were out. Several sides came out after entrees were finished. Orders were not coordinated at all and therefore dishes were being picked off for other patrons. When it finally came out food was overall average, though the last arriving dish, a spinach salad was excellent. Scallops with a Caesar salad tasted as if the scallops had been coated in salt, salmon salad came out incomplete and when brought to the wait staff attention by a diner the servers knew right away that it wasn't right and took it back to be fixed. Crab cakes were hard and sweet potato fries overly crispy [borderline burned]. Other entrees came out cold or orders came out incomplete and the entree to take the longest was a simple spinach dinner salad. Because the wait staff continually went back to inquire about the whereabouts this and other dishes the kitchen ended up making 4 spinach salads and double of some other dishes and were yelling at the wait staff for what was obviously the kitchen's disorganization. Wait staff were nice and apologetic but also seemed disorganized. Ended up requesting and getting a discount for the lousy experience.
