“Great to use as a base for touring Boston”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 30, 2011

We flew into Boston and camped here for 4 nights, bringing only the basic sleeping/showering equipment. It was difficult to find following our Mapquest directions, so use the directions on a regular map, or from your camping reservations confirmation letter. The price was only $14 a night; how can you beat that?? The bathrooms needed some attention after 4 days, but still pretty clean. The ranger told us to take the ferry to Boston. That was the best tip of our trip!

it is an excellent park, very clean, quite nice and organised. We stayed there for 1 wk and did day trips to Boston and the area. It was such a good and cheaper solution than staying in the city. W enjoyed nature and the forest after a busy day in Boston. Would recommend it to anyone, special with kids it was an excellent choice.

We camped at the Wampatuck State Park, in Hingham, Mass, 11 miles from Boston, it was fantastic, beautiful outdoors, with hiking trails, fishing, camping. Three blocks straight ahead from the entrance to the park was the beach and 11 miles to the left was Boston. We went into the city just about everyday and then back to the woods and camping at night. And swimming and sunning at the beach inbetween. We went whale watching, light house cruise, aquarium, fishing, took a ferry, road the subways (exciting to us we don't have any thing like that around my house). We toured all the hot spots in Boston on a Boston Go Card. freedom trail, museums, MIT, visited some of the oldest cemeteries, took a trolley ride, went to Boston Common, it was a really nice trip and adults and children alike loved it!
