“BUFFET WAS UNIMPRESSIVE”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed April 29, 2012 via mobile

Eat here for Easter and had the brunch buffet. The food was average. The service was nonexistence. Could have went elsewhere for better food/service and less money.

“Great atmosphere, Excellent food”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 17, 2012

I have been here twice now with a few friends. Both times we have gone on a Thursday night around 7:00. I love the way it is set up...the booths have high backs so you are having a private conversation even with a party at the next table. I believe it may be an old renovated church, as the ceilings are super high. Also, they have an elevator in the back that leads to an upstairs lounge that has live entertainment on Thursday nights (I'm willing to bet more than just Thursdays, but I'm speaking from experience). We checked out the music the first time we went and it was a lively crowd (Elle Gallo was playing with some "special guests" - a great night of music, btw) - fairly croweded bar with a good sized dance floor.

I ordered from the $10 entree menu (chicken picatta, which was fantastic!) and my friends split a shrimp scampi. We each had a salad (which is offered a la carte). Bread and oil before the meal is also a nice touch. The service is very good and they have a decent wine selection as well. We've never made it to dessert, but I have a feeling that it would be pretty tasty!

There is on-street parking if you catch it right. If not, there is a public parking lot behind the stores and restaurants on the other side of the street (no charge).

I highly recommend giving George's a try!

“Consistently good”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 5, 2012 via mobile

Nice atmosphere. Consistent good quality food, creatively prepared. The entire staff from the owner down to the excellent barstaff made sure that every detail was perfect. They all made us feel very welcome. We had a great time.

4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 16, 2012 via mobile

George's Wednesday night specialness with 10.00 entrees can't be bear in the Haverhill area. I have eaten there many times and have always been pleased with the food and the service but thier Wednesday night special makes for an unbeatable combination

“What a beautiful building and good food too!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 7, 2011

We went to this restaurant because we like the band that was to play at their upstairs function room. We were there when they opened at 5PM and they were ready for us, a pleasant surprise. We tried Kushiage, deep fried seafood, meat or vegtables, on skewers. We had beef and chicken, it was lightly battered and very tender. We had never had this before and were happy that we tried it. We had prime rib and a charbroiled ribeye for our main course. Both were flavorfull, tender and a good portion. Our drinks were good and we had a good bottle of wine for a fair price. Tiramisu was a fitting end for our meal. We were seated on the second floor and service was attentive in spite of them going up and down the stairs. If in that area again we would go back.
