“Just got bakery takeout”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed June 28, 2013

We were too late to eat so we got some croissants and turnovers. The pastry looked delicious, and I had high hopes. The prices were high, but that's ok for quality products. Unfortunately, they were below standard, and made me wish I stopped at Dunkin donuts. At least the croissants at Dunks are flaky, where these were just soft and meh. The turnover also was soft with a small amount of blueberry filling. Really, nothing was worth the calories, and I have a sweet tooth. We threw away half of what we bought.

“Just a Bakery”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed June 25, 2013

I stopped in for coffee and a scone. The coffee was okay and the scone was very dry. Great place if you are looking for sugar, but really not a traditional coffee shop.

“Great Breakfast”

Good menu. Good prices. Good food. I had the buttermilk pancakes, and they gave me real maple syrup without an extra charge.

“A Real Mixed-Bag Visit”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed June 20, 2013

We found our visit to this restaurant during a pre-Memorial Day vacation on the Cape to be a real mixed-bag... matching the mixed recommendations we'd received from other folks (and staff) at our timeshare resort.
The place has a nice, cheery coffee-shop feel, with about ten tables and 8-10 stools at the counter. The menu is a mix of breakfast and lunch offerings, including banana-but pancakes, quiche, wraps and daily specials like liver-and-onion-plate meals.
Oddly, when we visited for a breakfast-at-lunchtime meal about 11:15AM, they were already "sold out" of their signature "melt-away" pastry, sold out of their quiche of the day, and "sold out" of the egg salad filling for egg-salad wraps and sandwiches. A little hard to believe, especially since the level of business we saw while we were there didn't suggest they'd been exceptionally busy; but if they say they don't have it, not much you can do about it.... We settled on a pair of "second choice" breakfasts instead -- found them to be well-prepared and flavorful.
Our server was friendly enough, but didn't get around to checking on whether or not we wanted an iced tea refill until we'd completely finished out meal (the glass had been empty for a while by them)...although she did stop at the table mid-meal with a coffee refill...
Between the "sold out" items and the beverage refill issue, we were a little disappointed compared to the overall appearance and atmosphere of this restaurant. The prices are within the conservative range compared to those we found elsewhere on the Cape. And their bakery, located in the same building, offers tempting treats to eat there or to-go... we couldn't resist taking a couple of chocolate-chip cookies to-go and found them to be fantastic !!
We'd go back again, with a hope that next time they'd still have things like the melt-aways and quiche-of-the-day available for late-breakfast and early-lunch diners.

“Just Not the Same”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed June 18, 2013

My family and I have been vacationing at the Cape for many, many years, and at least one (or more) trips to Bonatt's for breakfast was a must. They had an amazing menu with delicious choices such as raspberry cream cheese-stuffed french toast, peach Melba waffles, and incredible fresh fruit plates, along with free meltaways for the table. Well, I'm sorry to report that the restaurant just isn't the same anymore. The meltaways are no longer free, the delicious fruit plates are a thing of the past, and the menu is just average. My blueberry crepes were delicious, but the rest of the food was just okay. My dad enjoyed the raisin toast, but didn't like the red flannel hash, and my husband's eggs and sausage were just okay. The food isn't bad, it just isn't anything special anymore,
