Found this place via TripAdvisor feedback and we thoroughly enjoyed our meal. The menu was wonderfully unique and the food was tasty.

“fun bar to meet friends for a drink”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 21, 2012

My impression is this is an up and comming restaurant. Love the tappas. The fries covered in bernaise sauce is my favorite, but inconsistant. One time they were to die for and the next not as good. The bartender is one of the owners and was welcoming and happy to share their plans for the future of the restaurant. Great martinis, although I would love to see a bigger selection of fun martinis. This place is a local favorite of mine.

“Absolutely superb! A new annual destination.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 7, 2012

After some research on yelp and urbanspoon.. all the reviews pointed to Mooncusser's as the place to go, and boy am I glad we did.

To start, it has a very homey feel, being as it is literally in a house that is quaint and converted into a semi-formal, very cape-y, yet worlds above anywhere else kind of feel.

In an area that is based on tourist business, Mooncusser's spares no expense to give you a wonderful experience rather than churn you out as one dollar sign after another.

The drinks were delicious (we had the ruby red martini and the creamsicle martinit). The owner, Patrick, was ever present and kind, he assured us of a table as soon as it was available. (We hadn't made reservations).

When we were seated, we couldn't be happier, our server Amy, a school teacher in the non-summer months, waited on us with kindness and professionalism. She was attentive and non-intrusive, she was knowledgeable and quite helpful on navigating the menu.

As for the menu, it has two parts, a tapas menu, and a regular dinner menu. We opted for the tapas style, as to get a bigger feel for how Mooncusser's does cuisine. We ordered the bernaise fries - delicious, the beef carpaccio on a baguette with arugula and a drop of truffle oil - delicious, the duck infused sliders, I could go on and on, suffice it to say everything was out of this world.

Mooncusser's is a new annual destination for me, I can't wait to go back and try their regular dinner menu (the dishes looked beautiful and quite good portions as well). Also the price isn't too expensive, for 4 tapas, and two drinks, I believe the bill was in the 40-50 dollar range. Dinner was about 20-28 depending on the dish.

Can't wait to go back and see Patrick and his beautiful restaurant.

“Shocker!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 29, 2012 via mobile

I trusted tripadviser reviews for a rare date night with my husband. After a epically indecisive drive around the Cape we found ourselves at Mooncussers. (insert shout outs to previous commenter about double parked patrons, what's up with that?)

Upon reading the menu, we were disappointed, we are non traditional eaters and it seemed pretty vanilla and heavy on the traditional. We decided to order sangria and an app and leave. Little we did we expect some fantastic sangria, a delicious little salad and shrimp to crave. Shocked, we decided to order more, mushrooms and ribeye steak, it was Incredible. They had these flash fried mash potatoes things. To. Die. For.

Our darling waitress was apparently also the pastry chef. She served us with the best dessert of our lives. I wish I was exaggerating.

All and all, don't judge a quaint little place by its menu! Thank you very much for a wonderful date night.
