“clean, comfortable, spacious and "what a view"”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 11, 2013

This is the sixth time we have stayed at Vacation Village. July for the past six years we have stayed here for our son's camp parent's weekend. I have found that over the years the resort has stayed fresh and clean. The suites have been consistently in good condition and very comfortable. The property sees newer than it is. The desk staff was friendly and helpful. In the past they were so focused on time share presentations that we found check in uncomfortable. NOT so the past few years. We were always greeted warmly and check in was a breeze. Both the indoor and outdoor pool areas are inviting. The gym facilities are fine. One day we will bring the pup as they are welcome as well!

This is was first stay at the Vacation Village and my primary reason for choosing this property was that it was pet friendly. While I had never traveled with any of my pets over the years, this year I wanted by furry companions (dog and cat) to come along to accompany me during the R&R I was seeking.

The front desk staff is very friendly, welcoming and ready to answer all your questions. I rented a one-bedroom unit and for an extra charge was allowed to bring up to two pets. The room was spotless, had a large bedroom and bathroom and a partial kitchen (you'll get used to washing your own dishes and being without a range, trust me!)

Directly across the driveway was a Pet Walk & Nature Trail with its own poop bag dispenser at its entrance. The complex was beautifully maintained and directly across the street from Jiminy Peak so you get some wonderful views of woodlands and mountains. My pets acclimated to the room quickly (as did I) and we ended up spending a great week enjoying the Berkshires atmosphere.

I must give a high 5 to the front desk staff. I called the them at about 10:30 one night because a DVD I had hoped to watch got jammed in the DVD player. I had expected them to walk me through the unjamming process but instead they sent the maintenance man who happened to still be on the premises at that late hour. He dropped by within 5 minutes of my call; managed to dislodge the DVD; and, left promptly. Couldn't ask for better, quicker service.

On-site amenities include an indoor pool adjacent to a gym; free 24-hr. rentals of a great selection of movies on DVD; a large outdoor pool with BBQ grills on the perimeter; volleyball court; swing set and mini playground; planned daily activities for kids and adults; free washers and dryers on each floor; and, WIFI (for an extra fee) in your rooms.

I'll be coming back for certain.

Room Tip: Ask for a second floor room if it's available since you'll hear your upstairs neighbors if y...

Here is the short version: we booked 3 rooms and had to wait until midnight (check in was at 4 pm) to get into one room (we were two families with small children). Manager was rude. Do not stay here, and do not book with hotels.com. I have filed a complaint with the Massachusetts Attorney General's office to investigate this hotel and hotels.com for their shady practices. I post this to warn others and save them aggravation and strife.

When coming to the Berkshires, if you know where to go and what to do, this is a great place to stay. You do have to drive everywhere, but expect that. The staff is friendly and my kids loved the activities. The bed and pillows were terrible and I'm waiting for my back to stop spasming. We had both units, so the amenities in the room were ok. The internet service, even with the upgrade, was TERRIBLE. If you know what you are getting is a good place to stay.

This is one of our RCI timeshare locations and it was a success for us. Our one bedroom unit had a full kitchen (stove with oven and dishwasher) and large bathroom. We did not recognize the floor plan of our unit on the website so the types of units available must range considerably in size and offerings. The very slow internet access (included in a $25 activity fee) can be upgraded with your credit card but it took half an hour of telephone tech support to get it working. Only two simultaneous users can access the internet at one time. There were free washers and dryers in each building and a large selection of DVD's at the front desk. You are across the street from Jiminy Peak and 20 minutes from Pittsfield, North Adams, or Williamstown. We enjoyed a drive up Mount Greylock so if you are bored here you have no imagination! As with these kinds of condos, you take pot luck on how quiet the neighbors might be so the best plan is to relax and understand others are around you and are here to have fun also. Big outdoor pool with a wading pool for little ones is in addition to an indoor pool and hot tub. The staff was friendly and helpful. A concert at Tanglewood was delightful (45 minutes away - plan on a huge traffic jam to get out of there). The bed was comfortable as was also the pull out couch. We were 2 couples and that worked fine for us. No onsite restaurant.

Room Tip: No elevators and some units are three floors so watch that. The balcony view varies considerably fr...

We stayed at this resort from July 27 to Aug 3, this resort is very well kept and also very quiet if you want to get away and relax. The indoor and outdoor pools were great, the fitness room could use some new equipment as it is dated. There is not allot to do around the area unless you like old houses and museums. A couple good places to eat was Old Forge Restaurant and Matt Reillys Pub, this one had a patio on the water. Rooms were adequate and well stocked, this was our second time at this resort. We went back looking for the day trip to New York City which they no longer do. No more time share sales pitch. I think the economy has stopped development of this resort.

All in all a nice relaxing time but I would not go a third time.

Room Tip: Ask for one bedroom full kitchen.

Thank you for your positive review. We’re sorry that we didn’t meet all of your expectations but are thankful that you appreciated our service. The Berkshires is a great place for a winter getaway and the area has much to offer for our summer travelers too. Whitewater rafting, golf, hiking, fishing, or just enjoying the beautiful countryside will help create wonderful vacation memories. We hope that you will reconsider and return and stay with us again.

My wife and I just returned from a wonderful week at Vacation Village in the beautiful Berkshire Mountains of western Mass. We stayed at this resort 8 years ago and had a spectacular time, so we decided to return again this year. The resort is beautiful and is nestled in between the nearby mountains of the Jiminy Peak ski slopes. The view of the slopes from the outdoor pool and other spots in the resort is spectacular. We had a one bedroom condo, that was much larger than many of the one bedrooms we have stayed at over the years. The bathroom was large and had a jacuzzi (which we used on more than one occasion). The outdoor deck or porch was small but functional, but we didn't use it a lot because it was right under a street light. Some of the decks have great views of the surrounding mountains. The bed was comfortable and the condo was very clean. Our unit had a dishwasher, a microwave and a two burner stove which we found to be sufficient for the meals that we fixed. The staff is friendly and helpful, and the main areas are clean and inviting. We found that there is a lot to do and see in this area of Mass. by driving to the surrounding towns and even the short drive into neighboring Vermont. A big plus - you don't have to drive on superhighways. We will definitely return to this beautiful resort.
