“Beautiful Resort”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 12, 2011

Great resort for families. Many activities for kids. Indoor/outdoor pool, its own movie theatre, tennis courts, barbecue grills, game room, hiking trails. Daily activities for all ages. Its located at the foot of Jiminy Peak ski mountain. Great for ski season. Very good location, easy to get to from New York City, Boston and less than an hour from Albany, NY. About an hour south of Bennington, Vermont. Beautiful rooms, we had a 2 bedroom, 2 bath, living room with full kitchen. It sleeps 8. Plenty of room for everyone.

Just returned home from a 10 day stay, the staff and accomadations were wonderful. This was our third trip to Bentley Brook and once again the staff were always helpful and friendly. The AC unit was not working properly mid week and they had to call for a repair. The apology, since the in house staff were unable to do the repair and we would have to be without for an hour or so, was unnecessary although appreciated. The repair man came and put in a new thermostat and all was well again. The rooms (we have two) were clean and in good repair. The children enjoyed the pool, movies and crafts. The projects were age appropriate and the staff person was extremely patient and helpful. The hurricane put a damper on our trip, but special events were planned indoors. All in all another great vacation in the Berkshires! Thanks BB.

We stayed in building 21, on the third floor, facing the tennis courts and mountain. The condo was nice. It was clean and comfortable. It could use a new stove. We had to put the burners on high for them to cook anything, and the oven took forever to heat up. We had to call maintenance to give us hot water. They came within 10 minutes, and the problem was solved. The pools were very small, but clean and well maintained. The grounds were kept up very nice, beautiful flowers all over. The Adventure Park was right at the base lodge. Not very crowded, so there were not long waits for the slides. I can imagine winter is great, as you can jump on a chairlift only feet from your room.

Room Tip: Ask for a high floor, facing the mountain.

We stayed at the Bentley Brook resort while I was in New England visiting clients. The resort is at a ski resort that has some fun summer things for kids. The location is about 20-30 minutes from stores so it is not close but not far either.

We had a two bedroom which was very comfortable. The beds and linens were nice. The kitchen was nice but lacked working space (Don't plan on any big home cooked meals).

HERE ARE SOME TIPS
Make sure your room is not near the elevator or the door the the resort. Our bedroom was on the wall next to the door. Everymorning we would hear everyone walking in and out. What made it worse was that they offer these hotel luggage carts and everyone would bang them against the doors and walls (not good for those who like to sleep in). In addition, the buildings are on a hill so there is a wood bridge from the parking area to the door to the building (the one we stayed in) and when the carts rolled over the bridge it was very loud.

Another thing you should know is that the internet at this resort is terrible. If you are here for business or need fast internet access you are stuck.

Overall I liked the place. I just wish my room was in a different location and the internet was better.

The service was also good at this resort. Our fridge did not seem to be working well and they replaced it within 24 hours.

Room Tip: Try using a timeshare rental service.

My husband, my two children (boy age ten and girl age eight), and I stayed here in July 2011. It was a short trip, only 2 nights. The two bedroom unit had plenty of room and fit our needs perfectly. We spent our days at Jiminy Peak which was adjacent to the hotel. The aerial park and mountain park were exciting and fun. Getting the full day pass was worth it because paying individually for each ride adds up quickly. The pub at the mountain base served good food at a decent price. At the hotel, the pool and hot tubs were very nice and well kept. The staff was friendly and helpful. There is a general store a short walk from the hotel so you can stock up on essentials.

We stayed in a 2 bedroom unit in building 26. The room was nice and big. The unit had a full kitchen, but a little outdated (but not bad) The beds were good. Not sure if it was the bed or just being away from work but I sleep very well.

We had a view of the mountain behind the resort. It was okay but nothing special. Might be better in the winter.

The bad...the walls are thin so we could hear some noise from our neighbors. Which was not an issue at night as everyone seemed to keep it down, but I am guessing if you had parties going on next door you could have issues.

The A/C exhaust (HEAT) blows right onto the balcony. So it made it even hotter and it was loud. (Side note: The balcony had enough room for two people)

The last issue is (complaint) about the signage. We happen to arrive at night. Once you get off of the main road and onto the property, which is shared with another resort, finding the way to the resort was almost impossible. The lights aren’t in the right spots to see any signs and even once you get to the resort they don’t really point out which building has the registration desk. Once we had a chance to drive around during the day it was very simple.

One of the best things about staying at this resort was "Mountain Adventure Park". This little park was very fun. The were only a few rides but they were fun. They also have a zip line option that looked really fun but we did not get a chance to try it out.

Please do not let the negatives keep you away from this resort. I would recommend this resort if you need a place to relax. Plus if you like to ski this would be a good spot.

I typically love the Wyndham family, but I have to say that this resort did not meet my expectations. Although the condo was decent and my family and I truly enjoyed cooking food and saving money, the thermostat at the condo was not cooperating well. Either the condo became too hot or too cold within a 5 degree temp change, and the "Auto" switch did not really help keeping the room cool. I had to keep the "On" button on to keep the A/C running. Furthermore, the A/C unit itself was loud. I was extremely disappointed with their recreation/arcade rooms. The piano was definitely NOT tuned at bldg. 24 (the Berkshire room) and the game room in another bldg. was in NEED of an overhaul. New arcade games, or maybe MORE arcade games would be a suggestion. And definitely more seating at the game room, maybe some couches would be nice. Also, although Jiminy Peak was next door to the resort, it would be wise for Wyndham to put more recreational activities for the resort, such as a mini-golf course, a basketball court, or even a walking trail. The hiking route of the ski trail is not for everyone, especially for the little kids. We did enjoy the pool, but it tends to get overcrowded. If we ever come back next time, I may opt for an RCI timeshare.
