We stayed here for three nights in August while in town for a family wedding. I'm so glad we chose House on a Hill- we had a fantastic time. Highlights included:

- beautiful property with lovely deck and rural farm views.
- great breakfast every morning, made to order with fresh local fruits and ingredients
- our bed was heavenly and the room (we stayed in 2c but I peeked at others and they were all cute) was beautifully decorated. The bathroom was my favorite- perfect size and really luxurious.
- Donna, the owner, was the real highlight. She was so kind, accommodating, and truly cares about her guests and their experience.

We will definitely be back next time we are in town! Five star experience that I would recommend to anyone staying in western MA.

This being my first stay in a B&E, I must admit, I was a touch weary. All my fears and anxieties melted away like a fresh pat of butter on a piping hot piece of toast. Inside the entryway we saw a comfortable seating area to our left, a beautiful set dining room table to our right, and the home's owner happened to be right in front of us. She was very pleasant, and we immediately picked up on her good vibes and down-to-earth demeanor. She then took us upstairs and showed us to our room, which was as clean as it was well decorated. I can say the same about the bathroom. Overall, I am so glad we chose the “House on the Hill” over traditional lodging (a hotel). As a first time bed and breakfast guest, the only thing I dislike about the “House on the Hill” is that it set the bar too high for other bed and breakfasts I may stay at in the future. Wonderful place! Great owners! Clean! Nice! Great value!

SERVICE
Donna is an experienced operator and it shows in the cleanliness and smooth operation of her home. Donna is also an extremely nice person possessed of excellent interpersonal skills.
THE ROOM
We were upstairs in the King sized bedded room. The bed was most comfortable and the facilities also featured a pleasant en-suite shower room all of which was kept spotlessly clean. A TV and A/C were provided to add to the home comforts.
LOCATION AND AMENITIES
The B&B is set in beautiful rolling farming countryside and yet a short distance from Greenfield with plenty of restaurants and shops. The B&B is located within very convenient distance to the Interstate. We stayed for 3 nights , 2 nights of which we were in the area for Dinner and we ate at the Deerfield Inn which is also a real treat with good food and service and is recently refurbished. The Deerfield Inn is located within the Historic village of Deerfield.
WHAT WE LIKED BEST AND LEAST
Best - Donna's calm and welcoming manner. Least - nothing particularly springs to mind.

Room Tip: Our room and the other rooms into which we were permitted a "peek" all looked lovely and t...

Our weekend at The House On the Hill could not have been better. The entire place is spotless and nicely decorated. There is an adorable wrap-around porch with chairs and a swing to relax on outside. Our room was great, the bathroom had new amenities and the bed was incredibly comfortable. Donna was such a wonderful host and she gave us a lot of great recommendations for places to go hiking, sightseeing and tubing on the Deerfield River. The breakfast was fantastic and everything is locally sourced. She had a bowl of fresh blueberries for us the first morning and we liked them so much that we went to a farm nearby and picked some for ourselves on the way home! Highly recommended!!

We had a very comfortable stay at House on the Hill. There were a lot of thoughtful details. TV and DVD in the room and dozens of DVDs available. Free wifi. The bed was comfortable and even a flashlight on the night stand. Very clean. The breakfasts were delicious. Wrap around porch and even watched and heard the sheep coming home at dusk across the street. Lovely.

Sweet house with a wrap-around porch perched on on a hill, local food, a pastoral view (mare and colt frolic across the road), and wonderful hosts Donna and Alain. Alain is a carpenter and the details are lovely throughout the house. The beds are also locally made - seriously! Private bathrooms, perfect linens. Donna is kind-hearted and attentive. I was delighted to find such a gem and will be back.

My mother and I found this place last year and have now made a weekend at this B & B an annual getaway- that's how much we love it! It the perfect escape from reality. Beautiful outlook onto farm land, amazing decor- far exceeding that of what you would expect at any bed and breakfast- and the most lovely owners!! Donna is such a peach and so helpful, making sure not only is your stay perfect, but that your day spent out was perfect. A definite must stay!! A++
