We were lucky to find a room here. The proprietor had been fully booked, on account of a church group coming down from Canada via bus. Unfortunately, the bus broke down near the border, and the owner had all empty rooms at the last minute. The tour group might have had to pay for the entire cost of booking the rooms, but he offered instead to charge them only for the rooms he could not let out at the last minute. As luck would have it, he sold out at midnight, so the church group did not owe him anything for their last-minute cancellation, and they rebooked mid-week. He said, "I figured that they were probably good people, doing good work. And when we take care of each other, God takes care of us." I'm a secular person, but that was truly heartwarming.
