I stayed at the Windflower Inn for a week in July 2004. I had just spent a wonderful night at a marvelous B&B in Crown Point, NY, the Sugar Hill Manor, so what I'm about to say may be a biased comparison of that great inn.
The Windflower Inn charged me, a single traveler, literally double the price I paid for my room at Sugar Hill Manor. Yet, my Victorian room at Sugar Hill Manor was double the size of the room I received at the Windflower Inn, and doubly good!
Because I was a single traveler, I was relegated to a tiny, musty-smelling room in the back of the house on the second floor. The kitchen was right underneath me, so needless to say, I had a downstairs alarm clock every morning.
The place itself just doesn't give the ambiance of a high-priced inn. The furnishings are mismatched--like old hand-me-downs from family stuffed into the living room, or mismatched items obtained at a bunch of yard sales.
My room had outdated 70-ish furnishings. I had little room to move around in it. But my room at Sugar Hill Manor had soaring ceilings, a super-clean, huge bed, a beautiful Victorian-style bath, and a lovely mountain view.
The innkeepers at Windflower weren't very friendly--barely said hello, and never asked me if I needed assistance of any kind. By contrast, Mrs. Hennessy, the innkeeper at Sugar Hill Manor, was extremely friendly and spent much time with me, mapping out directions, suggesting side trips, and sending me off with many brochures.
The next time I visit the Adirondacks-Berkshires, I'll know where to stay (hint: Sugar Hill Manor). For the price, you should stay there or find a better inn closer to Tanglewood. Windflower is a half-hour drive from there anyway.

Our Inn is furnished in wonderful antiques. We have been in business for 25years and have guests who return year after year. Our rooms according to trip advisor are priced at an average rate that is lower than most anyone else in this region. Our smaller rooms have been written up as one of the best buys in the southern Berkshires. All of our rooms have private bath, and Ac. We serve a full breakfast daily and during the summer ice tea and homemade cookies in the afternoon. Our rates last summer for our smaller sized rooms were $125 per night midweek and $150 a night for weekends this includes full breakfast and after tea and cookies. Summer is high season in the Berkshires . We located on 10acres of property and have an out door pool. Our breakfast hours are 8:30-9:30 and 9-10 on Sundays so we do not start setting up until 7:15 (later on Sundays) and we have never had a complaint about morning noise from me working in the kitchen. If you go to our website you can see pictures of our Inn, rooms and grounds and you will see for your self what we really are like. We were chosen last year as an editors choice by Yankee Travel Magazine and we are written up in many Inn books, travel guides and newspapers and magazines.

We are celebrating our 25th year of Innkeeping this year and could not still be in business and with a wonderful repeat clientle if all the things that were said about us were true.
