“Amazing View. Food average.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 10, 2012

We both had the huevos rancheros which were ok. They were out of avocado which was a bummer but they comped part of the meal to compensate. The day was pretty and the view is awesome.

Warning: Extremely limited menu.

“A refreshing change from the ordinary!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 27, 2012

The simplicity and complexity of this food should be on your "not to miss" list.
A light fulfilling menu which takes your taste buds to an unfamiliar yet extremely satisfying place.
The freshness of ingredients matched with the ability to think out of the box to create tastes you will find absolutely refreshing seems to be the goal of Market Restaurant.

“Excellent local food, simply prepared”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 30, 2011

While staying for several weeks in Annisquam, a few miles from downtown Gloucester, we ate twice at the Market Restaurant, a waterside gem. The chefs are Chez Panisse-trained, and the food is fresh and wonderful. Local seafood (Gloucester is a fishing port), local vegetables and fruit in season, great friendly service and an absolutely casual atmosphere make this restaurant a real winner. Prices are in the same range as other good restaurants in the area, but I've not had better seafood anywhere in Gloucester. The restaurant is small, and it's the only place to eat in Annisquam, so a reservation is essential; and you'd better call days in advance. The Market restaurant is open for breakfast and dinner, but not for lunch. When we were there they were serving brunch on weekends. They aren't open every day, and my guess is that they are closed in the winter, but it's worth a call to find out.

“AMAZING TINY GEM”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 16, 2011

We are frequent patrons of this amazing gem of a restaurant. JUST WONDERFUL ... Each dish is made with care and creativity and presented beautifully. The menu changes daily and each dish/each course is freshly prepared with locally produced/procured fresh ingredients. The staff is very friendly and the location is stunning. Amazing views - get there just before sunset and you are in for a colorful treat. JUST GO ... you won't be disappointed!

“fantastic food and service”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 14, 2011

We received a warm welcome and helpful menu advice from our host. Fresh and local ingredients are used and beautifully prepared, and all of our meals were delicious. The wine selection was also very good. The only drawback was the noise level. A relatively small room with a low ceiling plus loud music combined with other diners' conversations to make it it difficult to hear our own conversation. This improved after around 8pm, and being a Saturday night it was presumably about as loud as it gets. We plan to return but will choose another night of the week (although they are closed Wednesdays). We have until October 15th, when they close for the season!
