“Treat yourself...”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 23, 2010

This place is wonderful, warm and the food is incredible! Half portions of wine and food make it an affordable meal out, or splurge and get the lobster risotto and surrender to the melt-in-your-mouth goodness.

“Dessert To Die For”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 19, 2010

This is simply a hidden gem, not easy to find mind you, but so well worth the trek! For the money, this place blows most away. The appetizers, entrees and especially their desserts are just fantastic! You'll spend double in Boston for the same quality food. We found the owner's wife Nicole to also be the hostess, manager AND pastry chef! She was very welcoming and made us feel like family! When we finally got to dessert, and at the recommendation of our waitress, we tried Nicole's Banana Cake. Now, let me tell you, neither me nor my wife are huge banana lovers. But the Waitress assured us that it was heavenly. She was wrong. It was BETTER than heavenly! It was absolutely to die for! The "cake" was more like a torte and was more moist than most other cakes than I've ever had. But the banana pieces were sauteed in BUTTER and the sauce around it was divine! I had to call Nicole over and give her major kudos for this cake which she created. It was unbelievable, and you have to order it to try it for yourself. WELL worth the trip to beautiful Gloucester just for this meal!!!

“Best restaurant in Gloucester - by far”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 9, 2010

Excellent food, preparation, wine list and service. Not another typical Gloucester seafood restaurant (many of which are fine, but everyone needs some variety now and then). Have eaten here 3 or 4 times. You will need a reservation as it is small. I do wish there was a bit more space between tables, but that would require a new building!

Get the banana cake desert!

“A lovely place to dine”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 27, 2009

First time we tried this small restaurant in East Gloucester, and we are glad we did. It is an exceptional dining experience with excellent value. Kenneth Duckworth prepares every meal in a small kitchen that puts out fantastic meals. I understand he is a former head chief in Boston and the culinary sklls are evident. I like the optional smaller portion which is value priced and allows you to add appetizers and a salad for full enjoyment of your meal without overstuffing yourself. The service is efficient and friendly and the wine list well priced. Make a reservation because the place is packed for diner--closed Monday's. It is a real treat to find a restaurant that is glad you came!

“Duckworth a Great Dining Experience”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 29, 2009

Ken Duckworth, the former Chef at Maison Robert in Boston, has been delivering quality food since the day he opened. The food is always well cooked and presented. The staff is attentive and pleasant to deal with.
Don't forget to save room for the Banana Cake.

John
