“We loved the Charles Hovey House!”

The owner was absolutely fantastic and what a great chef!! She took care of our family as if we were her own, providing us with an absolutely beautiful breakfast each morning. Her cooking was unbelievable.

The Inn is furnished with antiques throughout and everything is kept clean and neat. The rooms are spacious and decorated elegantly. She just made us all feel as if the Inn was our home away from home. We had access to not only our rooms, but also the dining room area as well as the living room area. It was the best place we stayed during our entire vacation.

As far as location, it is situated in a spot where guests have a clear view of the ocean. It is a short walk down to the water and and an easy walk to the downtown area as well. The train station is quite close too.

Travelers couldn't ask for a better place to stay!!!

  • Liked — We loved the location, the view, the beautiful rooms and the food!!
  • Disliked — There really wasn't anything I can think of that I didn't like about it.
  • Tips/Secrets: — Book the room on the 3rd floor if it is available. 2nd floor rooms are great too!! There is a downstairs room for folks who can't climb many stairs as well.

“Stunning Inn with Amazing Views!!!”

Absolutely gorgeous inn on a hill overlooking Gloucester Harbor with two lighthouses flashing over the water! The inn itself is just lovely with charming, cozy rooms, a delightful common room with fireplace and views of the harbor. Our hostess was kind and generous with advice and suggestions of places to see and things to do. It was such a treat to sleep in a room with a view of the harbor and a lighthouse flashing in the distance. Gloucester is a great place to visit but I was happiest sitting on the veranda with a book. We can't wait to return.
