This was my first whale watch and it was beyond expectation. We saw 16 Humpback Whales, 3 Minke Whales and 1 basking shark which swam right up alongside the boat. There was also potential to see Dolphins and seal which they had seen on the morning trip. The close encounters with these magnificent creatures was unexplainable. I can't stop thinking about how awesome this trip was. We had gotten caught in storm out on sea and it was pouring, we thought the boat was headed back because we had already seen a good number of whales, with mother and calf pairs swimming with their "escort" (a third unrelated whale.) The calf's swimming right alongside the boat then going under to check out the other side.
Well just when we thought the show was over the boat slowed to a stop and the lady announced "if you don't mind the rain you gotta see this" When we got outside it was the most amazing thing, their was about 5 humpbacks playing and feeding during the storm. It was mother nature at her finest, we got to see the mother and calf pairs breaching out of the water, there was bubble feeding with 3 adults, they were so close you could hear their air spouts and see the baleen in their mouths!!!!!! The announcer was so enthusiastic and knowledgeable I felt like I learned so much. The boat was very clean and comfy, and the crew were just as awesome as the whales! Everyone from the girl at the ticket counter to the women at the snack bar (who was offering her own jackets to people who were cold!)
I highly recommend 7 Seas Whale Watch to anyone who wants a quality whale watch. They have tremendous respect for these animals and all marine life. They also went above and beyond with customer service which these days is rare with any business. I will be going back some day!
