“Open when Wingaersheek beach is not”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 18, 2013

We tried to go recently to Wingaersheek beach. It was full by 9:30 a.m. Someone was smart and posted a person at the head of the very narrow twisty road to the beach to head people off. He directed us to this beach. It was great! Yes, there was seaweed in the water, but that makes great sand castle decorations. Yes there were people there, but I could see from one end of the beach to the other which made it easy for me to see my son wherever he happened to be (and therefore relax). There were crabs in tide pools on rocks so everyone was entertained. All in all, not bad at all! (p.s. unlike what another poster wrote, mosquitoes do not carry Lyme disease--deer ticks do) There is a fee to park but that's true most places.

“Wonderful, low-key Beach!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 17, 2013

Love, love this beach! Great for families with small children! The water is mostly calm, except for when big boats pass by, but the waves don't get very big. The beach is tiny and has a lot of hermit crabs, great for the kids to explore. There is shade from the trees hanging off the hill, so you have the option of getting out of the sun! Fantastic beach!

“A Nice Little Beach”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 6, 2013

We recently spent a day in Gloucester and made the walk to Half Moon Beach. It was a very pleasant and shady beach and worth the walk.

“Tiny, but fabulous”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 28, 2013

This beach may be quite small, but there are many great aspects to it.

Surrounded by greenery, there is plenty of shade to help keep you from burning. There is a lifeguard on duty most of the summer. The bathrooms are nearby. The view of the outer harbor is serene.

It is very kid-friendly due to its size and active lifeguard. There are lots of fun tide pools where the kids can safely explore different sealife.

There are so many great spots to explore all around it. The area surrounding it is better known as Stage Fort Park and includes old cannons, little rocky treks, a nice playground, visitors' centre, a ball field and plenty of parking.

“Love this beach”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 26, 2012

Amazing views. The cliffs and homes on the cliffs are worth a visit as you drift off into fantasy land. Its not cheap to park and there is a little bit of a walk to hit the beach. The water is colllld. But its only up the street from Good Harbor and tends to be less crowded.
