I stayed at the Inn two weeks ago and was very pleasantly surprised. The price for me was cheaper than the Vista Hotel and they had a room free with two queen beds (yes, it was in the week) The space was huge, good facilities, a huge fridge was in the room and snack bar outside for quick grabs in between playing on the gently sloping sand beach with gentle waves whilst overlooked by a plethera of life gaurds who rotated their posts so as to keep alert.
The Inn has a little interior courtyard area to store your sandy things and sit in the chairs and loungers provided if needed. Departing guests appear to leave their boogy boards and mats so its a cheap way to replace or grab if you forgot something:)
The close proximity of the beach was wonderful during the day and also at night, the moon rises over the water and offered our family spectacular views. The sound of the waves was also a wonderful way to be lulled to sleep!!
The room we had (room 2) did not have air conditioning. My sons and I did not need it being so close to the sea and we stayed there on HOT days so I cant see it being a problem. However, be aware if you need aircon.
Amelias up the lane served a great variety of value for money dishes for the evening, my sons loved the pasta and meatballs! I loved the key lime pie :)
There is a CATA bus service that can get you to Rockport ( good for family mooching )and Gloucester.(a tonne of fishing and whale watching boats= paradise!!). google will help you there, the buses are regular and I think $1.25. ( no change given)
If you have any other questions, ill answer them if I can.. its a great area,
go on a week day, al rooms so close to beach you dont have to worry. Some are upstairs with balcony...
