“Making Memories”

FANTASTIC. This is where our family goes to rest and renew. We have stayed here each year at least once for the past 10 years at least. Mary and Joe do a great job making our stay comfortable, pleasant and affordable. Thanks for all the memories and more to come.

We have stayed at the Blue Shutters a few times. The first time was for my wedding. My entire extended family (from out-of-town and out of the country) stayed there. It was wonderful-but that was in 1996. We went back several times after and the place has fallen into disrepair. It's heartbreaking. How could you own such valuable property and let it fall into ruins? It's very sentimental to us, so against our better judgement we have stayed there again and again. The last time was the final straw. We rented a "suite", which allegedly sleeps 6 and also rented a separate room which sleeps 2. We invited my sister, her husband and my brother-in-law up for a couple of days. It was our 5th wedding anniversary and they had been in our wedding. Joe Screamed at my husband and said 'how many people do you people have staying here!' <<Hello>> we rented a suite for 6 and a separate room that sleeps 2! By my calculations 8 people could have been in our party. We certainly paid through the nose for these rooms. The rooms were filthy. The 'suite' looked like it hadn't been cleaned since my wedding in 1996. Honestly, they don't have chamber maid service and it really doesn't look like they clean in between guests. The common room is chock full of junk. It looks like your crazy Aunt Mary the cat lady's place. It seems Mary and Joe are out to pocket as much money as possible, with least the effort. I'm heartbroken. I have 2 kids now and they love the beach. Sadly, this won't be our special family summer get away. :< (

In response to your negative review we are completely puzzled. As stated in your letter 1996 (Wedding) was the year of your first visit at the Blue Shutters Inn. On your 5th wedding anniversary (2001) you revisited the Blue Shutters Inn. THAT WAS FIVE YEARS AGO.! How can an accurate and current review be based on a stay of(5) years ago.???

We got the last room avalible at the Inn on Friday 8-12-05. Everyone there was so friendly we couldnt believe it. I'd stay there again in a heartbeat and would recommend it to everyone. I'd best describe it as a home away from home. Joe was a super guy, and the view of the ocean and beach was spectacular. My next visit, we will be back.

Blue Shutters Inn gave me the homesyle family atmosphere I have been looking for. The owners go out of their way to make you feel comfortable and assist you with your needs. The Inn is situated right across the street from Good Harbor Beach and watching the sunrise and sunsets right from your room were breathtaking. It is alsio conveniently located near fabulous restaurants and shops. A stroll on the beach, riding your bike or casting off from the nearby rocks to catch some bass makes Blue Shutters a pefect place to stay. I call it my "little piece of heaven".

We have stayed at the Blue Shutters many, many times. The inn's location, directly across from Good Harbor Beach, makes the environment soothing and relaxing. A walk on the beach with your feet carressing the soft sands and the warm gentle waves while enjoying the sun makes the inn's location perfect for those discriminating people who wish to get away from it all.

The owners, Mary & Joe Giglio, as well as the rest of the staff go out of their way to make sure your stay with them is comfortable and relaxing.

The ONLY good thing about Blue Shutters Inn is that it is across the street from lovely Good Harbor Beach. Other than that, you're sleeping on an awful bed with scratchy bedding in a room with dirty 30 year old shag carpeting, broken down furniture and a filthy air conditioner. Your so-called breakfast consists of the likes of Wonder Bread and rotten fruit. It's no wonder the owner insists on payment the moment you arrive. Do yourself a favor--pay a few more dollars, walk a few blocks to the beach. You're definitely worth a good night's sleep in a clean comfortable room.

Mild weather brought us to the seashore for the holidays. Our Blue Shutters stay was so charming and relaxing. Overlooking the beach and convenience to all shops made our stay so enjoyable. Cannot wait to return in the summertime. This place represents a touch of "Old New England" charm. This is not a modern hotel decor, but comfortable.
