“Good hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 7, 2012

This hotel fitted our needs perfectly, travelling from UK we needed somewhere on our route west to arrive, eat and sleep. We chose this hotel because it had a restaurant. The hotel has very nice public area, good comfortable quiet rooms and a great bar/restaurant. Highly recommended.

Have stayed here many times. Had my wedding there in July 2008 and it was perfect. Nothing bad to say except the pub closed, did not want the night to end.

The new resteraunt is amazing. The food and service is top notch.

The staff is amazing

I also have had work functions there and the service was equally as stellar.

For your next work party or next wedding I would highly recommend the Colonial hotel in Gardner, Massachusetts

My family and I needed an escape for a long weekend. We chose the Colonial Hotel, its close to home and we have heard lots of great things about it from friends who have stayed and who had been to weddings their. It is a beautiful hotel and the staff were very nice and service was over the top. We enjoyed a wonderful dinner in the hotel dinning room, live music in the pub and also relaxed in the newly added spa.. Can't wait to go again.

When we first arrived the parking lot was jam packed. Wedding season. The person at the desk insisted that my husband and I reserved a smoking room. We have never smoked a day in our lives so this was absurd. But more absurd was the insistance of the person behind the desk that we had reserved a smoking room. What ever happened to the Customers always right? We couldnt even cross the threshold of the room the smell was so bad. After what seemed like a lengthy debate ... we got a non smoking room.

The room was clean, quiet and water pressure was good. We did not expect to be in the room long so we didnt need too many amenities. The restaurant had good food and prices and the waitress was delightful.

The next night... there were no cars in the parking lot and I think we had the massive hotel to our selves.

All in all ... a positive experience. A nice hotel for the person wanting to shop the Gardner Furniture outlets, do some leaf peeping, or hit the famous Hubbardston flea market...

You wont be disappointed...

Room Tip: I would ask not to face the parking lot... Its massive and has to be noisy when the wedding guests d...

Spent the night after a wedding in the area. Room was a little campy and the bathroom was tiny but very clean. The restaurant pub was very good for drinks and then for breakfast the next morning. I would suggest a second floor room so you don't have to hear kids running around upstairs.

We stayed there with my sister in law and brother in law for 2 weeks, the staff were very friendly and nice, the rooms were clean and comfortable, and Gail in the restaurant was a legend she even made toast every morning for us the breakfast was free in the week but you had to pay on weekends, The food was fantastic a really good chef and not expensive, i have eaten food like that in top places and paid a lot more money, The bar staff were all very friendly and were never to busy to chat. i would stay there again we loved it. thank you all for making our stay so great. from Colin and Julie Harper and Steve and Aly Harper.

The hotel itself was immaculate. Two weddings going on at the same time and the staff seemed to handle it great. We were extremely surpised that you could not bring in you own acolohol -- first for us. The Garnder Brew Pub was behond expcations -- wonderful food and staff. We loved it.
