“If you are traveling for hockey stay at Res. Inn or Courtyard”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed October 31, 2012

First off, this hotel is complicated to get into and out of. There aren't any real restaurants around the immediate area and it was 20-30 minutes of back roads to get to the rink/arena. Inside the hotel was mediocre at best. The elevators weren't working on the main floor and the ones that were working took FOREVER. No coffee in the lobby on the weekends. The sprinkler in the bathroom appeared to be removed and had what appeared to be tissue stuck in the hole. It was about $15 more to stay directly across the New England sports center at the Res. Inn and you get continental breakfast. Below expectations. Bed was nice, room seemed to be clean. Decent last resort.

Thank you for taking the time from you busy schedule to review your recent stay while in town for a tournament. We have been undergoing renovations for most of 2012 and will conntinue to re-do and upgrade the hotel. Our new restaurant and lounge will be opening in March of 2013, and we feel that it, along with our new breakfast restaurant will address our guests needs. We have completely redone the elevators in the looby and they will be back on-line on Dcember 27th of this year. We know that you and your team have other choices when in town, and we are addressing the needs of our guest in order to make this hotel the choice when in town for a tournament.

Again thank you for reviewing our hotel, and we look forward to serving you in 2013.

Respectfully,

“Reviews are right, its a poor choice and watch out for those accidentals!”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed October 27, 2012

I should have known the minute I checked into this place, that it needs an overhaul. The desk clerk asked me for a credit card to charge my accidentals. Yep...I knew I had to watch out after that. And yes, the elevators. Two of four were out of order both days and the hotel was full of conference people so I had to plan an extra ten minutes for coming and going.
The room was spacious but obviously the renovations have not gotten to furniture. The veneer on the desk was all cracked and buckled, there was a cigarette burn in the easy chair. Ugh. And there was a big glob of something caked onto the bathroom door...heaven knows how long. At this point, Motel 6 would have been a better choice.
But the pool was great...divided into lanes for lap swimmers and free of kids at dinnertime. Plenty of hot water in the locker room showers and no funky smells. i did not use the exercise equipment but there was enough for an army.
I may come here again, for the pool, but only after they renovate. I will also call first to see if the elevators have finally been fixed.

Room Tip: Ask for a room away from I 90. You will hear it even from the back of the hotel until they replace t...

.Thank you for taking the time to review our hotel after your recent stay. During your stay the guest elevators were undergoing replacement. We apologize for the inconvenience. Only a small fraction of rooms at this point have been redone, as week look to complete the renovation by February of 2013. When complete the hotel will have all new guest rooms, restaurant and lounge along with significant building mechanical system upgrades. We look to finish replacing the elevators within the next three weeks, which will positively impact future guest stays.
Again thank you for taking the time to review our hotel, and we look forward to you staying with us once the renovation is complete

“Tired so-so property”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed October 25, 2012

I had the pleasure of a business trip to the Framingham area, so I picked the Sheraton figuring that the property would be pleasant. Never assume. This property is old, tired and in need of many repairs. Elevators are old and slow and in fact 1-2 were out of service, making busy morning exits to the parking lot a laborious process. Stairwells were dingy as well. Room was worn and fixtures in need of repair, including broken bath room faucet. Thankfully the bed was comfortable and clean. Positive was that the Sheraton did have a decent sized swimming pool that was big enough to swim laps. Interesting clientele, since on two nights I could smell marijuana smoke coming into my room.

Property needs a lot of repair and modernizing, including elevators. For the price, I cannot recommend.

Thank you for taking the time to review our hotel. As you may have noted, considerable work is being done to modernize the property and bring it up to the standards travelers now demand. This includes new elevators, guest rooms, ballroom, lobby and restaurant and lounge. This work is anticipated to be complete in February of 2013, with the new elevators completed the week of November 20th, 2012. We apologize that we were not able to have you stay in one of our recently renovated guest rooms, as of October 31st, 2012 only a small portion have been completed. The hotel has been a landmark in the area for over 35 years; we look to continue the tradition of outstanding service and accommodations for many more years to come.

“My Stay Was Impressive”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 25, 2012

This hotel has had very mixed reviews. After seeing the reviews I was very concerned with what I was going to get. I was pleasantly surprised.

Despite being a Priceline reservation, I felt I was treated as if I had a Sheraton priority membership. Check-in was fast and efficient. I requested a "quiet room" and was placed in a very attractive room with a king size bed. The room was very well lighted, clean, and quiet. The hotel looked like it was full but operations ran smoothly.

The infamous elevator problem still existed at the front bank of elevators but about 20 steps from there were elevators that the wait time was acceptable.

Fitness center was one of the best I've seen and was free.

The location makes it somewhat awkard to get to, particullarly if you're using a GPS. It's worth looking at a map to determine how to get to the entrance in advance.

All and all, I would definitely stay there again.

Your kind review was much appreciated by the entire team at the hotel. We strive to make every guests stay a memorable one. As you noted while you were here, the elevators were in the process of being replaced. One elevator has been completed with the next one finished by 11/20/2012. Our lobby and restaurant will be undergoing renovation at the same time we finish our guest rooms. In addition we will have all new equipment in the fitness center by January of 2013. Again thank you for staying, and for your kind review. We appreciate your business.

“Nice, comfortable but difficult to get around”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed October 24, 2012

This was a beautiful, castle type hotel. The good stuff: beds were really comfortable, and I loved the comforters and pillows. Everything very clean and nicely stocked, including Starbucks coffee in the rooms. I had read reviews about bad elevators, but I didn't have any problems at all with them. Front desk staff - very nice and helpful. Not so good - parking lot filled up at night and was poorly lit as you got further away. No continental breakfast available, and the breakfast buffet was $19, for very average food. Biggest headache was getting in and out. Road is very busy, and is one way. Had to drive a long way and then u-turn, and you had to drive a few miles to good restaurants or coffee. I was there for business, and it was close to where I needed to go, but I thought it was a little expensive. Not a good spot if you are there to visit in Boston - traffic makes it a long trip to downtown.

Thank you for your recent review of our hotel. I apologize for your difficulty in getting around and in and out of the hotel. Located directly adjacent to the property is California Avenue, this street allows both east and west bound access to Route 9, and the Mass Pike. If you are planning a return trip to the area please contact the hotel, so we may help you put this street into your GPS. Also please ask for directions to several local restaurants that are within 2.5 miles of the hotel. Our staff has printed directions and will be happy to assist you. If you don’t feel like driving in the area, just ask for our shuttle to take you to the Natick area. We will be happy to assist you.
I apologize that I can’t help with the traffic, however again we can shuttle you to the Framingham MBTA station for a 26 minute train trip to downtown Boston. We look forward to serving you again.
