“Nice, comfortable but difficult to get around”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed October 24, 2012

This was a beautiful, castle type hotel. The good stuff: beds were really comfortable, and I loved the comforters and pillows. Everything very clean and nicely stocked, including Starbucks coffee in the rooms. I had read reviews about bad elevators, but I didn't have any problems at all with them. Front desk staff - very nice and helpful. Not so good - parking lot filled up at night and was poorly lit as you got further away. No continental breakfast available, and the breakfast buffet was $19, for very average food. Biggest headache was getting in and out. Road is very busy, and is one way. Had to drive a long way and then u-turn, and you had to drive a few miles to good restaurants or coffee. I was there for business, and it was close to where I needed to go, but I thought it was a little expensive. Not a good spot if you are there to visit in Boston - traffic makes it a long trip to downtown.

Thank you for your recent review of our hotel. I apologize for your difficulty in getting around and in and out of the hotel. Located directly adjacent to the property is California Avenue, this street allows both east and west bound access to Route 9, and the Mass Pike. If you are planning a return trip to the area please contact the hotel, so we may help you put this street into your GPS. Also please ask for directions to several local restaurants that are within 2.5 miles of the hotel. Our staff has printed directions and will be happy to assist you. If you don’t feel like driving in the area, just ask for our shuttle to take you to the Natick area. We will be happy to assist you.
I apologize that I can’t help with the traffic, however again we can shuttle you to the Framingham MBTA station for a 26 minute train trip to downtown Boston. We look forward to serving you again.

Respectfully,

Thomas M. McKenney

“Ok.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed October 21, 2012

It was ok. Room was large and clean but bathrooms very small and well stocked with towels, soaps and shampoo. Their restaurant was overpriced and not many choices so we went elsewhere. There was a drink glass left in hallway from the day before when we checked in and thought it was way overpriced for off season. When we left, the gentleman at the front desk would not give us a receipt since we booked through Expedia. He said Expedia would send us one. Well I have booked through Expedia 100 times and ALWAYS get a receipt when I check out of the Hotel! Rude! Was clean, but I probably would not stay here again for the price.

Thank you for taking the time to review your stay at our hotel. We at the hotel strive to deliver excellent service to all of our guests. We are happy to provide a folio for all room rates, however do to our agreement with Expedia; your folio would show a $0.00 balance for the room rate. However your folio would show any incidental charges that you may have incurred. I apologize for the confusion, and we are currently using your encounter as an example when training our staff on how to interact with all Expedia guests.
Thank you again for your input, and if we can be of any additional service please feel free to contact me at the hotel.

Respectfully,

“Very Disappointed for a Sheraton Property”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed October 18, 2012

Sad to say but I have nothing positive to say about this hotel but its location. Now this property is going through some renovations and hope this will change what I am saying.

I traveled to this hotel for business and took my wife and daughter along w/me. Check-In was smooth and front desk clerk was nice. We booked a room w/a king sized bed w/a roll away bed for my daughter. We had the option for 2 double beds but I can't share a double w/my wife, my personal opinion is that hotels need to scrap 2 doubles and have 2 queens instead.

Our room was clean but outdated. All furniture was scratched up. Lamps were dusty. Beds were comfy. Bathroom was also outdated, little bit of mold on the shower curtain. Railing in the shower was broken. Shower was loud. The Heater/AC unit was right under the window and kept blowing the curtains around so I wasn't able to keep the lights from the parking light or the morning sun completely out. The Starbucks coffee was much needed in the morning.

Since I was at this hotel for business, we were took over some of their conference rooms. The rooms were nice, some minor updating would be nice but nothing horrible. The public mens room though really needed to be updated. All the food that was supplied for the conference was horrible. From the breakfast muffins to the dry chicken for lunch.

One thing that was nice is that they let me check out of the hotel room at 4pm since I had the conference and needed to change afterwards and also my wife and daughter were at the hotel for the day BUT saying that, and this was the biggest issue for me, we checked in at 6pm on a Thursday and there was a lot of room service food left outside of customers hotel rooms and the next day, at our 4pm check out time, that SAME food was still there, including the fruit dish that was right next door to us that my daughter wanted to have every time we past the room. Horrible!!!!! At least I didn't see any bugs during my stay, surprising after all the food left out in the halls.

For a Sheraton Property, I am truly disappointed. I will not be back at this place unless its for business again and if I do, I might stay at the Motel 6 across the street for a third of the price.

Thank you for taking the time to review our hotel after your most recent stay. Please let me apologize for the issues that you have described. I have reviewed your comments regarding the culinary performance of the team during your conference, and moving forward we have made several changes in delivery, sourcing, and production of our lunches and dinners. Your feedback is appreciated and acted upon. In addition we have addressed the issue of trays being left in the hallways. My Director of Food and Beverage has implemented a system so this will not occur again. Again let me apologize for the issues you described and if I can be of any assistance in the future, please contact me at the hotel.

“Ehhh... At best its just allright.”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed October 18, 2012

One of the lowest of the lower end Sheratons I have stayed in. You can see that this place was once beautiful many many years ago but Sheraton has obviously forgotten to spend even one dime to update this hotel. The room furnishings were from 1970. Old & scratched and meager at best. The walls are paper thin and I could hear my neighbors on both sides all night long. When they used their bathroom it sounded like it was in my room. I hate giving a less than perfect review but this place is on my list as a last resort. One positive is that the room was very clean.

I would suggest looking elsewhere unless your using Starwood points in which case this hotel is only 7K points, but you wont want to return.

Room Tip: Stay someplace else

“Outdated in all respects except for the price!”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed October 6, 2012

I was in Framingham for a family wedding, and stayed at this hotel for 2 nights. The elevator system is completely antiquated and in need of an upgrade or overhaul. My room faced the MA Pike and Route 9 - noise city. The room was no better than a Motel 6 or other budget place - no mini fridge in the room. I enjoyed the wedding, but that was because of the people - this hotel needs remodeling badly. Actually, there is a display in the main lobby that shows the fabric, color choices, etc. for the planned reno - even the swatches are outdated looking!

Room Tip: Go to the Natick Crowne Plaza!

Thank you for taking the time to review your recent stay at our hotel. As you noted in your review the hotel is about to embark upon a multi-million dollar renovation of all of our guest rooms, meeting space, lobby and restaurant. In addition to the renovation we are also in the process of replacing the windows in the guest rooms. This will help reduce noise from the outside and make the hotel more energy efficient. We apologize for the shortcomings of the hotel while we are in the construction phase of the project. Again thank you for taking the time to review our hotel.
