We stayed here for one night while our daughter was doing an overnight stay at Wheaton College. We checked in late afternoon but then was out until after 10:30. The room was clean. When my husband and I got into bed, we noticed the bed was noticeably smaller than a Queen size but did not request a room change since we were already ready for bed. The next morning I spoke to the desk clerk and informed her that the bed in the room was a full size and we were supposed to have a Queen size. She assured me if there was only one bed in the room it was a Queen. I offered to have her come up to see it but I don't think she could leave the desk. It was still relatively early so the manager was not in yet. She did call the manager and he too assured her that is a Queen size bed. I have to add that we are not big people by no means but just like a reasonable amount of space when sleeping.
We ate breakfast, which was ok. There was eggs (a little salty to me), bacon, sausage, cereal, yogurt, waffles, standard fare.
We had to check out early before the manager got in. I followed up with a few calls following our visit to the manager but could not connect with him until today. He explained when he got in that morning he went straight to the room to see if perhaps the wrong bed got placed in the room. He told me he looked on the mattress and on the tag it said "Choice Elite Queen". These are mattresses that are purchased for Choice Hotels specifically. If these are "Queen sized" mattresses, I am sure they don't meet the standard 60" x 80" requirement. Most likely they are sized down a bit. The manager did tell me that I wasn't the first person to mention and question the size bed and I suggested he take it up with the corporate headquarters because if Comfort Inn hotels Queens size beds are more like full size, I will rethink staying there in the future or at least make sure I book a king size.
I will be staying at another Comfort Inn this coming week and will post my findings then.
Overall the stay was good, comfortable, quiet, and the manager did handle it adequately without actually being there at the time. There is the restaurant Ninety-Nine right across the parking lot which is convenient. We didn't eat there (we ate at Jimmy's Pub in Mansfield) but did stop in for a drink after dinner where they had trivia night which was fun.
