“Super little motel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 15, 2006

Stayed here one night enroute Martha's Vineyard. Lovely rooms, pleasant staff, free parking while away and very close to ferry. No coffee facilities at all during the evening. Need the car to access restaurants.
Very functional accomodation

  • Liked — close to ferry to Martha's Vineyard, ability to leave the car there free.
  • Disliked — No coffee in room
  • Tips/Secrets — Great seafood nearby

Simple, but very nice motel. Excellent friendly staff, free wi-fi. The price was reasonable too. What more could a feller ask?

I have all good things to say about this inn. First of all, location. Someone wrote a review that it was a long walk to the docks, I dont know what she considers a long walk but if you can walk a football field, you can walk this short walk to the dock. The room was clean and bright. They have wireless internet that worked great. The grounds were beauifullly kept with charming places to sit and enjoy Cape Cod breezes. Their service was the best I have ever had. Our room didnt come with a microwave, so i called downstairs to ask if they had one in the lobby that i cold use. They did better than that, they brought one up within minutes. Then unfortunately, I had a medical emergency in the middle of the night, kidney stones, and had to go to the ER. We did not get back until 6 a.m and we were set to check out at noon. They let us sleep in, as late as we wanted with no additional charges. That goes a long way with me, that they come through for you when you are in a pinch. I would definately stay here again. In fact, we spent the rest of our trip in the Berkshires and i wish i had spent more time there instead.

We had a great time at the Red Horse Inn! The staff were most helful and the location was perfect. We asked for the "insider secrets" on where to go and the owners made a great suggestion on where to find the best sunset - very romantic! The rooms were immaculate and everyone we met were extremely friendly and helful. We only stayed for 2 days but next time we will stay longer as we can walk to the ferry that goes to Martha's Vineyard and to the beach at the end of the street. The bright red chairs on the front lawn were great to view the beautiful flowers. We can't wait to come again next time!

My husband and I just hosted our 2005 family reunion. We were fortunate enough to be able to reserve all of the rooms at the Red Horse Inn.

Thanks to Bob and Eleacia, the reunion was a spectacular success. The friendliness of the staff, the service and the hospitality of everyone there was above and beyond the call of your everday motel. We had several handicapped family members with us also. They made special accomodations for them as well.

The rooms were immaculate and the meeting house was a wonderful place to gather to share old memories and catch up on the lives of everyone who attended. We had family members attend this even from all over the country and EVERYONE LOVED the INN!

Our thanks go out to Eleacia and Bob again.

My husband and I spent almost two weeks in Falmouth with our two young children. The Red Horse Inn was a great place to stay - in great condition and very clean. All of the staff were very helpful.

This is a MOTEL, people- (look at the real name above), and that fact is simply omitted on the website- misleading at best. Don't believe the management, who misrepresents itself as a "Hotel", an "Inn", even a "Guest House". Do they think we won't notice the long strip of doors facing the steaming parking lot, the wishy-washy pastels, and fire-retardant bedding that screams "MOTEL". Oh, and the pool... surrounded by concrete, chain link and parking lot.
I guess the service is fine for someone who is used to being patronized. That reviewer was right about the kids, you do get hushed, and they do seem to squirrel families away over the office-probably the thin walls. It is exasperating getting the real story beforehand- don't even bother.
Within walking distance? Sure, if you want to walk ALL DAY, but they have to admit it is one L O N G walk to a beach or decent restaurant in town. If your vacation matters to you, look around a little more- there are plenty of legitimate inns that are not neighbors to a strip mall parking lot, and motels not afraid to admit it.

, Owners at Red Horse Inn - Falmouth, responded to this review, July 3, 2005
We would like to thank the reviewers for sharing their thoughts about their stay at our location. It has probably been some time since you were here as we no longer have the pool and many of our rooms have been updated to include whirlpool tubs, fireplaces and hardwood floors. While we know that we can not please everyone it is reassuring to know that both tripadvisor.com and Cape Cod Life voted our motel as the best not only in Falmouth but on Upper Cape Cod as well (including Falmouth, Bourne, Sandwich and Mashpee). We also recently won several garden/landscaping awards for the wonderful flowers that we have every year. We do indicate on our website that we are a motel and there is never an illusion that we are anything different but a clean, comfortable place that is within walking distanct to many attractions including the ferries to Martha's Vineyard. As with all reviews we thank you for taking the time to write them and for those of you to read them. It is our goal to provide the cleanest rooms and the friendliest service and we will continue to strive to do so. Thank you, Eleacia and Bob
