“Nothing Ever Stays the Same”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 24, 2010

My wife and I have been to Sea Crest a few times in the last five years, and what was once a place I could not wait to go back to, I am undecided if I want to go again. I realize that Sea Crest is under new management and I would like to be fair and all but when you are spending a good chunk of change, I would think it you should get what you pay for. I would like to cut the new owners some slack and be be a little forgiving, but business is business. We had trouble booking the reservation, checking in & checking out. The staff although nice, we not very knowlegable and did not go out of their way to help. They could not provide us with a breakfast menu nor could they tell us what was being served. The rooms had some minor flaws which never got fixed. The beach was littered with debris; bottle caps, drink covers and mainly seaweed. Now I know that seaweed on the beach is a part on being of the turf, but the old resigme had raked the beach each morning and had the beach loungers all lined up and ready....all before 7:00am. That's what impressed me the most. My feeling is....As long as the room is comfortable and the food is decent and receive help from the staff when needed, then the beach, where you spend most of the day is, by far, the most important. The pools were not as pristine as they used to be either. In summary, Sea Crest was was EH! OK. Maybe we'll go agin next year, just to see if progress was made. After all it is a beautiful location.

Fitness facility was full of rusted equipment and the entire hotel looks like something from the 60's. It may have gone through some renovations, but let's face it, the entire resort needs to come down and start over. You can only do so much to old buildings.
The showerhead was something you would find on a wetbar faucet and I'm just glad we didn't have to spend more than a day there.

We stayed at the Seacrest July 12-13. We go every year for the past seven with our grandaughters. This year the outdoor pool was green, the indoor pool was cloudy. Beach chairs and umbrellas are old and dirty. We go for the beach and water activities. There were no towels either day at the pool and beach! What are these people thinking! We had good ocean weather otherwise this trip would gave been a total disaster! I know they are renovatibg but major things are in disrepair, two pools, fan up in the shower room where it was 90 degrees, dirty outdoor furniture and ice machine at the outdoor bar that doe not work! I am calling next time to make sure everything works at this hotel!

We stayed at Sea Crest in the ONLY building that has been renovated by the new owners besides the lobby. It was immaculate except bathtub wasn't new. Staff is VERY ATTENTIVE. Warm water of the bay and the beautiful (large) private beach was like paradise. We spent 8 hours a day on that beautiful beach. Lounge chairs/towels/umbrellas ARE provided. Restaurant is surrounded by Huge glass windows and overlooks the ocean..what a way to start the day with breakfast. This winter the entire resort will be renovated . We look forward to returning!!!!

We just arrived home from the Sea Crest in North Falmouth. When we arrived we were greeted by a guy named Matt.. he was polite and effcient with our luggage.. then we walked into the newley renovated lobby that we had heard so much about.. much to our surprise the lobby looked great.. then the checkin process begun.. what a nightmare.. we over heard so many people complaning but it was 1pm... check in was stated at 4PM..so we decided to hit the beach and wait.. we were told that our room was not going to be available until after 4pm.. no problem we were heading to the beach.. we went to the beach bar and met T.. nice gal. great drinks.. we went back to the front desk and were told our room was still unavailable by a rude desk person named Dan and to come back after 5pm??? What were pissed. We headed back to the front desk after much sun we met another front desk person named Jessica. she had stated our room was still not available. she delivered so welcoming and polite and assured us that she would see to it that she would "GET US IN ASAP" that we decieded to head back out to the beach and that she would check with housekeeping and call us on our cell phone. We waited at the beach bar and talked to another couple that had been there since 10am waiting for our rooom. Jessica called our cell phone 15 minutes time was 4:10PM later to let us know our room was ready... needless to say the couple next to us was really pissed off as they had been waiting for several hours.. So my wife said to our new cabana bar friends "lets go see Jessica at the front desk" she will take care of us.. and she did! not only did we check into a fab room she got our new friends checked into their room near us without hassle! Thanks to Jessica you were great,, you stated that you came from the Marriott and it shows! your professionalism and seemless checkin was well appreciated and it shows. That Mr Clark that was standing there with you is a great guy! We witness alot of unhappy people but for us and our new friends you made it a great experience... BTW that nice Raymond guy fixed our lock in 208......many thanks..... see you next summer. happy guests.. but you need a coffee bar!

I just returned from a 4 day stay at the Sea Crest. I read the reviews before we made reservations, and we booked hoping that the positive reviews would be true. We also made sure that we reserved a newly renovated room to avoid some of the issues other guests described here. In addition, we made sure to confirm that the whirlpool, sauna, steamroom and outdoor pool were fully functioning because these were part of what attracted us to the "resort". Our stay was a disaster.

Although we booked one of the newly renovated rooms in building 2, upon check in we were told that we were not booked in one of these rooms. After asking us to take a seat in the lobby, we were ultimately given one of the new oceanfront rooms. The room was fine, but there was only 1/2 a roll of toilet paper in the bathroom and there was no toilet paper holder. The refrigerator also stopped working 1/2 way through the trip, and our food spoiled. Aside from this, the room was acceptable.

The rest of the resort was a nightmare. The outdoor pool was green. They explained that it was "fine" to swim in, that the chemicals were just off. As a pool owner, I know the water is "fine" to swim in, but nobody wants to swim in it. The whirlpool was empty and broken, and the mens' sauna and steamrooms were also broken and not operational. The weightroom in the gym was disgusting and totally unacceptable. All of the weights are covered in rust, and the rack holding the free weights is literally disintegrating from the rust and they have not even bothered to vaccuum up the crumbling rust from the carpet. I'm not talking about a couple of flakes of rust - I'm not exagerating when I say there is a large pile of rust collecting on the carpet.

We also had a problem on our way back from dinner off-premises one night. We were lost on our way back and called the resort for over 30 minutes trying to get directions. No one answered the phone. When we told them the night manager apologized and sent a bottle of wine to the room, but at that point nothing could salvage our stay.

In short, this was an awful trip and if you have any alternative to the Sea Crest, do yourself a favor and stay elsewhere.

Having taken family trips & vacations to this hotel for 30 years, my family was looking forward to its family reunion just before the busy season started. While we enjoyed the location and being together, we found that the new management has no people skills, and are downright rude. After a minor fender bender in the parking lot with a custodial pickup truck, the hotel moved the vehicle and wouldn't exchange information. The manager, a man named Omar refused to exchange information on the employee and even went so far as to yell at the guest in my party in the lobby and say it was their fault. This exchange took place in front of other guests that were checking in.

A woman named Kathy at the front desk also refused to provide a cot to our room the next night and hung up the phone when being complained to about poor customer service. A call to the manager Omar, resulted in our guest being called a liar and more yelling.

New management needs to seriously check out who they hire and hold them to a higher standard. Otherwise, people will not want to return. Beware of Omar & Kathy.

Lastly, the newly renovated lobby is ugly. Looks like a Motel 6 with no Cape charm like it used to have.
