I found this bike/jog/walk trail websearching "cape cod bike trails" & am so happy that it was a perfect fit for a visit with my sister whose husband was at Woods Hole for conferences. We had a ball setting out each day for Woods Hole on the mtn bikes we brought from Delaware with snacks, bathing suit and towels.
Once there we would eat lunch or dinner at different restaurants, or hop the ferry to Martha's Vineyard where we would bike and eat some more.
The trail from Falmouth follows the beach so you can stop and swim or just sit in the sun and take in the multcolored Nantucket sound water. The water here and in Woods Hole was so clear, offering shades or deep turquoise to emerald green. I am from Ct.and we don't have water like this. You could see different types of seaweed and other water plants deep down stuck to rocks, etc.
I actually think this bike ride is shorter in length than the road to Woods Hole but I didn't measure it. Bike ride only took 10-15 mins. to get to WH.
Lastly we stayed just outside of downtown Falmouth at the Inn on the Square which was perfect for access to bike shop (and real coffeee shop across the street )for all kinds of bike rental or purchasing items and then to hop on the trail around the corner.
This hotel was way overpriced too(as in other reviews) maxed out young staff, no restaurant, (although looking for someone to lease out closed one where continental brkfast served), pool looked cloudy (worried not chlorinated enough) and room was still not cleaned by 5:30 pm!! From other reviews looked like we lucked out with an unmildewed room.
Come for the trail find another inn or hotel!
