“Nice place to stay, but definitely in a time warp”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 25, 2008

Shoreway Acres was a very nice surprise! As we were driving through downtown Falmouth we came across a neon sign for the hotel. Had I not already had reservations, this sign would have scared me away because it looked like a sign for and SRO hotel. As we drove up to the hotel we were pleasantly surprised to see "compound". Very well maintained and manicured, nice pool, volleyball nets, seating and tables everywhere. Our room was actually two small rooms connected by a hallway with the bathroom off the hallway. Yes, the rooms were quite small (though Europeans would think they're just fine) and dated (1960's), they were clean and reasonably priced ($200/nt). The buffet breakfast was fine, what you would expect from a bufftet, scrambled eggs, pancakes, french toast, sausage or bacon, apple crisp, pastries, different breads and cereals. Again, the dining room was also 1960's. Walk to downtown Falmouth or the beach, great location

My wife and I booked reservations with Shoreway Acres Inn via telephone and internet for our wedding. We are both Active Duty Soldiers deployed to Iraq so planning a wedding from over 6,000 miles away with less than three weeks lead-time proved a daunting task to say the least.
The staff (particularly Dorie Ketterer) was nothing short of extraordinary. She and her staff planned, resourced, and facilitated an absolutely magnificent wedding in a short time. Not only did the staff take care of everything for us: photographer, bakery, and florist, they were able to block off and reserve rooms for our 30 guests from around the country as well as assist will the procurement of a beach permit for our ceremony.
Their grounds are pristine and very well maintained. The Inn presents an historical "Old Time" Cape Cod feel starting as soon as you pull into their parking lot. The staff was completely supportive of our wedding, while providing support and customer service to the other guests.
The rooms in the oldest of the Inn's houses (where we stayed) were of classic Inn quality as demonstrated by the crown and base moulding not often seen in newer establishments. The room we occupied featured hardwood floors and a classic Cape Cod flair.
If you're looking for large rooms and a stereotypical "tourist" type setting, Shoreway Acres Inn isn't the place for you. However, if you're looking for a great family atmosphere, rich in history, heavy on the customer service, and close to the downtown area, Shoreway Acres Inn is a must stay!

We were very happy with Shoreway Acres. The hot breakfast was served with class and was somewhat varied each day. Housekeeping was great. They came in every day and I was surprised that they even cleaned the dishes in the sink. It was nice to get back to the room after a long day and it was clean. Thank you, staff!

We were looking for a quick family getaway to a cozy hotel with our 2 young girls, and we were impressed with ShoreWay Acres Inn. It is so family friendly. The weather didn't permit, but in warm weather this place is full of summer style activites such as bocce, volleyball, croquet & an outdoor pool. The large grassy areas are perfect ly manicured and boast large family style swings. The service was top notch, everyone was so accomodating to whatever we needed. The owner and staff alike went above and beyond making our visit comfy. The indoor pool was an added bonus and the complimentary full buffet breakfast was outstanding. All of the waitstaff, including kitchen staff were so friendly and helpful making it a great overall experience. The adorable room we stayed in had a closed off fully equipped kitchen with everything you would need for your stay. We used this room to have our baby sleep in a portable crib while we had a movie night with our 3 year old daughter, perfect set up.Close walk to downtown Falmouth which has lots of restaruants and shopping. In addition there is a great playground right behind the downtown green. We thought this hotel was fantastic while we were there, but they even went another step above and searched everywhere for our daughter's lost favorite blanket, sadly it wasn't found though. But what an effort on the staff's part. We would recommend this place to couples and families looking for a low key hotel expecting great service.

This was our third year in Falmouth. First year stayed at the Holiday Inn and didn't like it. Next year stayed at the Admiralty Inn and didn't like it either. Although more expensive than the other 2 establishments, we liked the Shoreway Acres. We are staying here for 3 nights again this summer. However, the price has gone up $20/night!

The location is great with a walk to Main St. and the beach. We were upgraded to a "suite" with a full kitchen at check-in. The room had 2 beds, a pull out couch, a TV viewing area and front and back porches. Our "back yard" had swings and tables. Our "front yard" had picnic tables and a gazebo The boys (aged 8) loved the back yard. We were not able to go to the included breakfast, so the staff brought a basket of goodies to our room. The front office has all kinds of toys for the children to play with.

The front desk helped us with dinner reservations. I highly recommend the Quarterdeck, Cafe Villagio, Liam McGuires and the Chinese Restaurant on Main St. (sorry, forgot the name). The Chinese restaurant also has decent sushi.

Let's hope that we have as good a time this year!

Good comfortable, clean motel style accommodation. We stayed in the main pool building and the decor was very dated but the rooms were well cared for by room service.

You could hear quite a bit of noise from adjoining rooms and the corridor, but luckily the inn was relatively quiet when we stayed. We just had to put up with someone snoring in a nearby room. My guess is it could be quite noisy if the motel was busier.

The breakfast room was in the same building and offered a very good breakfast with excellent service. Looked good for families as a lot of fuss was made over the children eating in there.

Inn had nice spacious grounds with lots of seating and swing seats - good for getting fresh air.

Excellent location with the main street being less than 10 mins walk away. Would highly recommend the Indian restaurant 'The Golden Swan' situated close to the junction of Shore Street and Main Street. Excellent very good value food.

The hotel/motel is in a lovely spot, pretty grounds and with very easy access to the beautiful beach and Falmouth's main street. Check in was friendly, and we were put in a room in the main block (pool building). The room was a good size with fridge/freezer, microwave etc. Bit tricky to use these amenities when there is no cutlery or crockery though! The decor is very outdated and the bedding was all nylony. Also the room and bathroom wern't very clean at all. The 'resort' was probably high fashion in 1971 but has not been updated since.

The breakfast room was in fact the function room (strange decor down here too), the food was okay but very repetitive.

The room was lovely and quiet for the first 3 nights, tues-thurs. However on the friday night an awful booming noise started, I went to investigate and dicovered there there was a 'do' on in the function room with a band. We were 2 floors away and it was so bad we could hear it above the T.V. I complained and was told it would go on till midnight and the same on saturday night. Great!
We requested a room change the next morning and we were put in one of the other buildings, even weirder decor over there and a bad musty smell and very noisy neighbours.

The staff tried to be helpful and the manager apologised with a bottle of wine but that dosen't make up for little or no sleep!
