“Very Good Food and Attentive Service”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 2, 2014

The three of us dined there on a weeknight in July. The exterior and interior are not fancy, but adequate. However, the meal was excellent for several reasons. The waiter was especially helpful with our questions and our requests; he made sure that we were satisfied with the dishes we had ordered and our beverages. The presentation of the food was lovely, the flavors delicious. We sampled the chicken sandwich, the fish platter, and the burger. Generous portions with excellent side dishes. We were too full to try their desserts. We would return there.

“Don't Bother...”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed July 22, 2014

Didn't even get past the hostess' (who turned out to be the owners granddaughter) chip on her shoulder. Asked to be reseated and she refused stating it was her decision on where we sat! After an exchange, asked to see the manager and she refused. When I insisted I found out from the granddad owner that I didn't have a case since she was his granddaughter. I wished him well with his business with family like that fronting it!

“Great family restaurant and a good value”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 6, 2014 via mobile

We went for Sunday morning brunch. It is not a brunch as you order individually off the menu but who cares. The food was good, hot and plentiful. Our waiter was a pleasure. He was extremely attentive, kept our coffee cups full without having to ask. Have been there for dinner as well and just as pleased.

“Excellent food and value”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 27, 2014

I agree with previous posters that service could stand to be improved, especially wait time although this may not be the fault of the wait staff but more that the kitchen cannot get out the food fast enough. One minor thing, we did not have enough ketchup on our table and we asked a waiter and he apparently must have forgotten so we had to ask someone else...not a big deal. We also told our waitress that we (my wife and I ) were going to share a glass of wine as we already had enough before arriving. The waitress instead brought us an entire bottle. We explained to her that we only wanted a glass and she said no problem, took the bottle away and brought us a huge glass of wine. Later during our meal, she brought us a second huge glass without charge even though we had not asked for anymore. That was very nice and unnecessary. We only got a burger, fries and onion rings and everything was excellent! We will be back!

“Americana in America !”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 27, 2014

Nice old fashioned diner. Ate there on two evenings basically as a result of recommendations on here. Good simple food at a good price. Great deserts. Giant classic map of the US on one wall occupying any waiting times - the decor is very American and I loved it. Staff were helpful especially with local info and touring tips for Martha's Vineyard.
