We had a lovely stay at our first B+B at the Cape. We traveled with our 80-year old parents and aunt, and our teenage children. The rooms were spotless and recent renovations made it feel like a new property. Wood floors, pedastal sinks, glass doorknobs, colorful quilts and luscious four poster beds made for a warm, homey New England atmosphere. The innkeepers were especially attentive, but not intrusive, and the inclusive breakfast kept everyone sustained for hours. We'd go back in a heartbeat, this time for a longer stay!

We just got back from a 3 night stay at the Beach Rose Inn. I booked the trip based on Tripadvisor reviews I had read. However, the night before our departure I noticed the one and only negative review of the Inn which had been recently posted. Ironically, the subject of the review was the exact room we were scheduled to stay in: the Nobska room! Obviously, people are different , because we have nothing but raves for the Inn, the innkeepers, and even our Nobska room. The room is plenty spacious with a king bed, immaculately clean and we had no problems with noise from the gravel driveway nor headlights in our windows. Other guests drove in at night and that was it, it didn't go on and on as suggested by the reviewer. The breakfasts were fabulous, so gourmet...and the variety wonderful. There is a fantastic deck out back on which to enjoy them. The location is wonderful, close to so many different beaches, restaurants, shops. Sheryll had lots of maps, guide books and suggestions for us and was able to get us tickets for the ferry to Martha's Vineyard. Within 45 minutes of our arrival the first day we were sitting on the boat on our way there. She also gave us a beach pass which saved us money since the rate for parkiong is $20 for non-residents. Our room had complementary bottles of water every day (even in a good hotel you have to pay for that at the mini-bar ) ! I could go on and on, but suffice it to say, the Beach Rose Inn is a lovely B & B, whose owners have nothing but the traveler's comfort and entertainment as their top priority.

In early July two friends and I attended a wedding in Cape Cod.When looking to book a room we considered the local hotels, but decided to look into The Beach Rose Inn Bed and Breakfast and did we hit the jackpot. We found it quite by accident but we are already looking forward to another stay. The house in itself is very quaint and lovely. We, (there were three of us) were given a beautiful room at the front of the house that included a porch. We had a great time relaxing at night with a glass of wine listening to all the evening noises, and the didn't include the sound of traffic.
Sheryl ,our hostess was a most gracious lady and was very helpful in advising us where to eat and what we should see.Her breakfasts were fabulous, and I must say she serves the most fantastic granola with fresh I have ever had.
We were even invited to a wine tasting on the back patio on Saturday evening. We had wonderful accomodations, great service, fantastic food and I recommend staying at The Beach Rose Inn when you visit Cape Cod.

“a charming oasis!”

The Beach Rose Inn

Jul 30, 2007

The Beach Rose Inn is a great B&B tucked away from the traffic of downtown Falmouth and close to gorgeous beaches. The owners are incredibly kind and accomodating, the food was fabulous (fresh fruit every morning, great entrees), and our room was charming, comfortable, and clean. (I had the opportunity to see other rooms while we were there too and they were all similarly wonderful- some larger than others- all cozy, clean and well cared-for.)

The grounds were beautiful and well-maintained, with a great new deck and a water feature that rivals the best I've seen on HGTV- perfect for enjoying an evening glass of wine!

My husband and I both got massages at the inn as well which were great and wonderful to have on site.

I can't say enough about this place- we will definitely go back!

First the few good points: the inn was spotless; the inn owner was accommodating (i.e., made eggs when I didn’t care for the breakfast); mid week rate 3 nights for the price of 2. The usual room rate is $175 per day. However, the bad points turned me off. We had the Nobaska room, an extremely room small room made even smaller by a low ceiling. Almost the entire room was taken up by the king sized bed. . The bed linens looked as if they had been left in the dryer too long, they were badly wrinkled. They were not changed during our 3-night stay. The bathroom was tiny. I hit my head bending over in the shower to pick up the soap. The room was in the carriage house at the end of a noisy gravel driveway. If the noise of incoming cars didn’t wake us the head lights shinning directly into the window did. We took a walk and found a discarded toilet dumped the grounds. Unlike most B&B’s we have stayed at there was no fruit bowl or cookies to tide us over until breakfast is served at 8:30. Breakfast was adequate, but I suspect the orange juice was canned.

Management Response

For the reader making a decision about The Beach Rose Inn based on this review, I believe it’s important that I share additional facts about this reviewer’s stay at the Inn. At The Beach Rose Inn, we are dedicated to providing outstanding customer service and in this case we did our best to insure that these guests had a positive experience. This couple called the day before their arrival and requested the least expensive room as part of a mid-week special “stay two nights and get the third night for free.” We had limited availability, but were able to offer them the Nobska Room, one of our basic guest rooms which features a king size bed and a shower bath. The Beach Rose Inn has a variety of rooms with a range of amenities and rates. Upon their arrival, it was clear that they were unhappy with the Nobska Room and I immediately offered them an upgrade at no additional charge to our more expensive Chatham Suite, which features a queen canopy bed, sitting area, flat screen cable TV, and private bath. The Chatham Suite was occupied the first night of their stay, but available for the remaining two nights. They said they wanted to think about it and the next morning informed me that they did not want to move because repacking their bags would be too much of a bother. Given the tone of this review, it seems these guests were committed to having a negative experience regardless of our best efforts to provide them with a positive one. They appear to have literally “gone in search of” issues to complain about. The Beach Rose Inn is located on 1.4 acres and in the far left corner, behind a utility shed, is a maintenance area with gardening and construction equipment. This is where they spied the broken toilet which was waiting for transportation to the landfill. And, we pride ourselves on serving fine, fresh breakfasts. For the record, The Beach Rose Inn never serves orange juice from concentrate.
