“A great jumping off point for the Vineyard”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 7, 2012

This was our fourth year of staying at the Admiralty Inn on a Friday night before catching an early ferry to Martha's Vineyard. It is not fancy, but has been consistently clean and comfortable and a great value on the Cape to avoid the traffic to the ferry. Staff has always been fast and friendly, and the rooms have been totally adequate. This is not a luxury place, but it is not shabby, either. The rooms are spacious and allow for friends to crash... and it has worked with our toddler for the last two years, too. A very short drive down to the ferry. Definitely recommended as a transition onto the Vineyard.

Unfortunately, we didn't book ahead as we were unsure of plans and I was overuled by tired family, who just wanted to sleep!

Good-beds were comfortable and no bugs! Towels were decent.
Bad- Bed sheet on one was stained and when we phoned front desk, woman who checked us in said " no housekeeping-you can check out if you want!" We just asked her to bring sheet and we would change. Next morning, housekeeping turned out to be same guy that was there with her night before!
-dirty, dirty, old-sticky stuff on top of fridge(circa 1970) door, baseboard heating/tile floor in bathroom looked like it had not been cleaned in a long time. Sliding window did not lock and air blew up into curtains instead of room.
-no one attending continental breakfast next day, ran out of milk, someone picked the berries out of muffins, yikes!
-indoor pool and hot tub were disgusting, could not possibly be anywhere near health regulations. Outdoor pool looked nice, someone was using.

All of this would not even be as bad if we didn't pay $134 for the night (again our fault for not booking ahead and for accepting that price). I absolutely do not like to write bad reviews but unprofessional staff, way overpriced for such poor conditions and definitely need to do a complete reno!

It was in a great location for area activities. The desk staff was helpful with suggestions for local dining. Overall, the room was clean, but the shower was very moldy, causing us to wear our flip flops when we showered. We were in the seasonal building and the wifi did not extend to our room.
It was helpful that towels and replacement toiletries were left at the door of the rooms, if the staff could not access your room. However, I did find it strange that our room was not able to be accessed by staff during the 5 1/2 hours (between 9am-2:30pm) we were not in the room on Saturday. The continental breakfast was in a large bright room from 7am-10am which worked well for our stay.

We stayed in the suite which had 2 floors and 2 bathrooms and a pull out sofa overlooking the pool which looked very nice, wish we had time to enjoy it.
Very convenient for one night stay, clean but the place needs updating. Front desk employees were very nice.

Dirty filthy old are some of the words that come to mind. Was greeted by a fully tattooed, pierced and obstinate woman. In most cities this hotel would be closed down by the Heath department and or city code enforcement! Run forest run","

$160 (+tax) per night-the WiFi signal is so poor that you have to take your laptop to the lobby or the pool area for it to work! rooms are surface clean but deep mold around the sink/taps/bath.

Room Tip: upon check-in, ask for a room where the WiFi actually works.

Not a bad place and a good location. Nice pool. Breakfast was a little late for us. Big issue was the water pressure. There was hadly any in the showers on the first floor so I felt for the folks upstairs.

Room Tip: Find ne closest to the water pressure room! Poolside is nice but second floor is better.
