“Our worst dining experience in 20 years”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed October 3, 2009

Without doubt a restaurant to miss - simply a dreadful experience - do not waste your time or money. The food was inedible. The staff were unaffected by our comments nor did they show any concern - food was salty, tasteless, unappealing to look at - just masses of "homemade" pasta that was awful - too bad that the "family run" establishment simply showed no concern or care - in business for two years - hopefully not a week longer. Yet another disappointing Cape Cod dining experience.

“Authentic”

If you want the real deal, this is it. The food and desserts were excellent. The service was equally good. Highly recommend.

“Authentic/Great”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 22, 2009

It was a such a treat to find this hidden gem on the edge of Falmouth Center.

If you are into heavy cream sauces, large portions, chicken parm and large menu selections....this IS NOT the restaurant for you!

The owners are from Italy. They make the food the way Italians really eat. Simple, fresh, and homemade is what the menu is about. It's a small space and gives the feeling you are in a European bistro.

Pasta is made in house and local ingredients are used often in the menu.

Enjoy the simplicity of the ingredients and atmosphere and your will surely have a great meal.

“Very disappointing”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed July 20, 2009

This reataurant is serves the worst Italian food I have ever eaten. The menu is very limited with a lot of cream sauces, there is not a single veal dish on the menu and the pastas were very basic. We ordered the shrimp and scallops pasta dish. There were 3 small shrimp and a few scallops the sauce was described as a light red sauce. The pasta was hard (not al denta) and the sauce tasted like old fish and was almost invisable. The lasagne Bolognese didn't resemble any lasagne I've ever seen. The spinach pasta tasted like paste and may have been heated in a microwave. The steak with potatoes was acceptable, not great. In addition to the poor food the air conditioning didn't work although it was claimed that a customer asked it be turned down earlier, however it never cooled off. This is an over priced restuarant with food that makes a Gino's look gourmet. I was hoping to enjoy a new dining option in Falmouth.

“Italy in Cape Cod”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 23, 2009

La Civetta is a wonderfully authentic Italian restaurant, owned by a young Italian woman whose family came often to Cape Cod, and as a result, she decided to open a very traditional Italian family restaurant. We have traveled in Italy several times, and this restaurant is just like being in the small neighborhood restaurants of Italy. The menu is wonderful, and the wine list well suited to the food. We have been coming to Cape Cod for years, but we only discovered La Civetta in 2008. But now that we know about it, it will be on our list of "must do's while in Cape Cod"!

C'e un' osteria buonissima!
