“Battleship Cove”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 12, 2012

What a fun and interesting place to spend a day. We loved seeing and learning about the different ships at the cove. It's lots of stairs and small places to climb. It can get hot in the Uss Massachusetts. We had an awesome time.

“Outstanding!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 11, 2012 via mobile

Even if you have little interest in history, military, tactics, or ships for that matter, this is a place worth visiting. The USS Massachusetts alone would be worth the admission price. There are so many ships to see and particularly the USS Mass is so large that you can spend a full day here if you want. We were in a hurry and somewhat "rushed through" and we were still there 3 hours. The Foundation that operates this has done a great job in refurbishing these great boats and then opening them up to the public to wander around through every nook and cranny. 2200 people crewed the USS Mass, so that gives an idea how big it is. We found it particularly interesting that in all the key areas, they had TV's running videos with crewmen that had actually worked that station explaining how it worked, how they passed their time, etc. - it really gave an understanding of what it must have been like to be working on the ship. This is a great place to take kids. We saw many during our visit and they were all having a blast, mostly just running around and exploring. The only reservation I offer is that there are a lot of steep steps to get to all the floors of the ship, so it is important to have some level of fitness and good walking shoes. Excellent attraction.

“MUCH Better Than Expected”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 2, 2012 via mobile

The tour through the submarine (USS Lionfish) was spectacular. i enjoyed the guide's answers to all our questions on the sub and the battleship USS Massachusetts. The videos of the vets' oral histories was great too. Wish there were more of them. I particularly liked the sickbay areas since I am a nurse.

“A must visit for adults and families alike”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 29, 2012

This is a little bit of American History and if you have the chance it really is great to see all that the cove has to offer. We have visited Battleship Cove a few times, and each time we discover something new. Quite often, there are people working on the various boats and they are always happy to answer questions. My children learned a lot about subs, what they do, how many sleep on them & where, where it had been and more because the gentleman working there took the time to answer their many questions. I love when I can learn, my kids can learn and we are in a fun environment.

If you are visitiing with small children, there are a lot of stairs going straight up and down into different levels of the boats that can be a challenge, but it is very worth it, as you are able to touch & experience most things on these boats.

The largest ship has a small cafe in it where you can grab lunch. There is also a snack shack outside, but it is not open year round.

“Well worth the Money”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 27, 2012

My Family really enjoyed all of the ships, the Battleship is so big you could get lost. We learned alot and got great exercise. It could take 3 or more hrs, but we were able to get it done in 2, we were there at opening and did not have a crowd, when we were leaving the school groups were arriving. The only Con is that they need to take better care of the ships, after having visited the USS Nautilus in New London, ct and the ships in Boston Navy Yard, i was a bit disappointed to see so much rust on these ships. Maintenance is needed on decks , with the cost of admission, they shoud be able to keep them maintained better.
