And the main reason we did is because of the wonderful Innkeeper, Kathleen, who made us feel very welcome. She is a gem, and we really enjoyed talking with her. She made good suggestions about where to eat and what to do, and was very helpful. We stayed in the penthouse, which is a large sleeping/sitting area with a kitchenette and a deck that overlooked the Essex estuary. It was comfortable but not luxurious. The house itself is warm, kind of "shabby chic," filled with knick knacks with lovely old antiques. Breakfast was truly amazing. Kathleen asked us what time we wanted to eat, gave us choices and then proceeded to serve an amazing breakfast feast. We hope we have the opportunity to visit again.
