Based on the TripAdvisor reviews, we booked this hotel when we saw an AAA deal for two nights. We were pleasantly surprised. It's important to realize this is NOT a B & B and it does look like a (small) hotel. It's not an historic building, and it is kind of anonymous looking. But, everything was there and the staff is very nice. The beds are comfortable, the bathroom is pretty nice (nice long marble counter - plenty of room). The location turned out to be a little better than I expected. It really is about a 7 minute walk right down Main Street until you get to the harbor. In fact, although the hotel's on a main drag, we had no problem with noise. We even had a hard time at first finding it since it is tucked in to some trees and the sign isn't big at all. Tip: If you are coming in to Edgartown from any of the other towns, the hotel is just one or two little buildings after the big supermarket on your left. This used to be the A & P supermarket but I think it's a Stop and Shop now. This is not a problem -- you are not right next to the supermarket or its parking lot; there is another business in between. It's nice to be able to pop in to the supermarket and get things like sparkling water or fruit, which we did. My only complaint is pretty minor -- the outer bedding (not the sheets) was some kind of slippery synthetic and it didn't want to stay in place. Another good thing - our room came with a refrigerator! We recommend this hotel.
