“Great lobster roll”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 26, 2013

Great lobster roll and great selection of draught beers in a pub-style setting. Just what we were looking for.

“Teh Place for Pub Grub”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 9, 2013

One of our regular stops when on the Vineyard. T News has a nice Pub atmosphere with a menu to match. The beer selection is really good with menu recommendations to pair your brew and food. God place for a casual meal with reasonable prices. My favorite is the Fish and Chips. They give you a good portion that is properly cooked and not greasy. The variety of sandwiches are interesting a well done. If you're up to it try the beer sampler.

“Order the fish and chips”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 8, 2013

We happened upon this place after walking by many others that looked either too spendy or a little too "fancy" for our style. The fish and chips were great and very reasonably priced. Amazing breading on the fresh cod. We sat at an outdoor table and enjoyed people watching. Staff was very friendly.

“Such poor service”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed September 2, 2013

I have been to Newes of America many times over the years and have enjoyed it as a reliable place particularly in the off-season. The menu is somewhat limited with a set of standards but is worth it for a pub-style meal.

However, we visited for lunch on Labor Day sitting for the first time on their new outside patio - a definite mistake. There was one waiter for about 10 tables. It took a long time to have our initial order taken and then was half-way through my meal before I received the pepper I had requested. When our plates were cleared we requested the check as it was now getting hot in the sun. Ten minutes went by with no appearance of any waitstaff so I had to enter the building to ask. Another 5 minutes later we learned that our check was sitting on someone's table and we were given an off-hand apology.

I realize that Labor Day indicates the wind-down of a long hectic summer on the Vineyard but management needs to address shortfalls in service. When seating outside it is very frustrating to have staff people disappear for long periods of time with the need to chase after them.

“Great Spot for Lunch”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 31, 2013 via mobile

We ate lunch here during a day trip to Edgartown. The food was good, plentiful and served by a great young guy. We chose a table outside to take advantage of the sunshine and the chance to watch the world go by.

Great value for a quick lunch with no frills. Recommended.
