This just might be my favorite lighthouse on the island and cape. Easy walk with great views. Beautiful!

“Breathtaking”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 27, 2014

Edgartown light is a beautiful location, everywhere you look there is a nice view. Loved it!! Staying at the Harbor view hotel made it even better since I had a view the entire time I was there.

“A Beautiful Lighthouse in a Beautiful Location”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 21, 2014

This cast iron lighthouse which was built in 1881 originally stood at Crane Beach in Ipswich, Massachusetts but was moved to Edgartown in 1939 where it's been standing watch over the harbor and Chappaquiddick Island ever since. Over the years, sand filled in the area so that the lighthouse is now standing on a beach and it's a popular site for weddings and photographs. Be sure to take a moment to read the Martha's Vineyard Children's Lighthouse Memorial at the base of the lighthouse engraved with part of a poem by Tomas Napoleon called "A Remembrance of an Unforgotten Vineyard Summer" along with stones engraved with the names of children who have died.

“Lighthouse”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 11, 2014

We stayed across the street and took a lovely walk out to the lighthouse. It was not opened while we were there but it was an enjoyable walk that kids would love. Great shells and beach in front of the lighthouse.
