We took the public bus to get there, and journeyed a little over an hour. There were mostly tourists on board, so it was great fun meeting new people from all over. The bus is also as great way to take in the scenery all over the island. A one day pass costs $7. The lighthouse is exactly that - a lighthouse on a bank of receding cliffs that have been there for generations. It is a piece of the local history. It is a photo opp! There is not much to do there, but see the views and the lighthouse. The food at the local takeout is supposed to be good but we didn't try it.
