“Wonderful resort”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 19, 2014

We really appreciated how everyone on staff went the extra mile to assure our stay was memorable and enjoyable. Service was top-notch, even the owner of the property stopped by during our dinner to introduce himself to our family and said that we can directly access him if there were any issues or concerns. Every member of the team was extra friendly, overly accommodating, and so very nice to our family. The property is gorgeous, and the activities available to our 3 year old were terrific. We are planning to return next year.

We stayed at the Winnetu for our anniversary this June. This was a return trip for us. We found the staff incredibly friendly and helpful, the rooms beautifully appointed and situated with a lovely view of the ocean and gardens below. I am disabled and use a scooter for mobility. The bathroom had a roll in shower with a separate shower chair. The grab bars were in great location but the toilet too low. The pool is heated and has a lift. The restaurant The Lure has only gotten better. A short walk to South Beach and great bike rides nearby were very much enjoyed by my husband. Edgartown and the Chappy ferry are only a 15 minute drive away. We will be back!!!

Room Tip: Third floor rooms have a view of the ocean and the garden

We stayed for 5 days/4 nights in one of the East Chop Suites (which was a complimentary upgrade from a Studio)

We were greeted by a friendly staff, and after checking in, were given a tour of the property on the way to our suite, while our luggage was brought to the suite for us.

Our suite had a common area, including a pull-out couch (to queen size bed), flat-screen TV, with cable and a DVD player, a closet with an iron/ironing board, extra pillows, hangers, and complimentary beach towels. In addition, there was a 5-drawer dresser for clothing, storage, etc.

The suite also featured a full kitchen, with cabinets stocked with Corelle dishware, pots and pans, measuring tools, flatware, cooking utensils, a dishwasher, with dishwasher soap, toaster, coffee maker, full fridge/freezer, with pre-made ice, and a pantry.

The bathroom was rather large and had a sink with plenty of drawers, full mirror, plenty of towels, and a walk-in shower, which had complimentary shampoo, conditioner, and body wash.

The bedroom had a king size bed, with a duvet cover and plenty of pillows, bookshelves with books, a flat-screen TV, with cable and a DVD player, a pull-out twin bed, a three-drawer dresser, and a dining table with chairs.

Off of the bedroom, was a deck with a table and two chairs, as well as complimentary beach chairs, and drying racks...and an amazing view!

The property featured a gym, (2) outdoor pools, kids' playarea, tennis courts, spa, gift shop, laundry room, and General Store, Garden Pavillion, and the Lure Grill.

The resort has a Concierge service, which allows you to take advantage of the many day trips, tours, bike rentals, etc. In addition, there was a complimentary shuttle service that brought guests to and from the resort to downtown Edgartown all day long.

The Winnetu is a short walk away from South Beach, and just a short drive (or bike) to downtown Edgartown (and the surrounding towns).

This was our first time staying here (and on the Vineyard in general), and we can honestly say that we wouldn't ever want to stay anywhere else!

Room Tip: Pack light, it's all-inclusive!

My daughter and I visited Martha's Vineyard in April this year for the first time. After some reviewing we picked the Winnetu to stay. What a perfect choice. We were early in the year and yet had perfect weather and the area could not be more gorgeous. Don't worry about things to do as there are plenty but the highest praise goes to the staff. What wonderful people we met who did everything they could to make our few days the best they could be. The hardest thing was having to leave. Thank you all so much for everything.

Overall we had a great experience. The room was immaculate and well-appointed. The staff were friendly. The food on-site was great. There were many activities available to us, although we couldn't take advantage of all of them because of our short time there.
Our only fault would be that some of the staff were obviously inexperienced and maybe lacked some basic operational knowledge -- this is probably because they are young, seasonal staff and just need more training. For instance, asking basic questions and having to wait for a more senior staff member to clarify or correct them before getting the appropriate answer.
We also used a babysitter obtained through the hotel and we were quite pleased.
All said, we would likely return in the future. We enjoyed the Winnetu and its proximity to Edgartown.

I stayed at the Winnetu this past Memorial Day weekend with my young daughter, mother, and a friend. This is a lovely resort with beautiful decor and great amenities, but the friendliness of the staff and their efforts to please are what make this resort special. I would recommend it to anybody traveling with small children to Martha's Vineyard. The pool was heated, so we could swim even in less than warm weather. The walk to the beach was not too far. They have a play area at the main restaurant and plenty of activities, including s'mores over a campfire, to delight children. Thank you to the staff (especially Chip and Dottie!) for making our stay so WONDERFUL!

We recently spent 3 nights at the Winnetu Oceanside Resort. We stayed in the Garden Suite and the room was beautiful. I don't believe I have ever stayed in a hotel that was so clean! We had our own private deck and a small kitchen set up that worked for us. I cannot emphasize how exceptional the staff was at the Winnetu! They were professional, courteous, friendly and so helpful when needed. The Lure Grill was the best! We never had a bad meal through our stay. The beach is a 3 minute walk and the heated pool was so relaxing. I would not hesitate to book another stay.
